Split stay - KTTW question

Hi all:

I have a question regarding tkts from Undercover Tourist
Experienced WDW traveler here, but this is our first for a split stay.

Here's the situation:

We are a couple of families going to the world in 16 days :woohoo: (12 of us, ages 16 to 50 something)

We have three days booked at POR for the first part of our stay (thursday to Saturday) three rooms, No dining plan included for the POR section of the stay.

Then we have rented points for three OKW studios for Sunday to the following Friday which DOES include the dining plan.

I have purchased 7 day Park Hopper tkts for all of us through Undercover Tourist. I know that I can have these added to our room keys at either resort, but how do I handle a split stay and having them added to the room key? Do I just use the tkts and the room keys separately for the POR part of the stay and then add the remaining days on the tkts to the OKW key? Do I add the tkts to POR keys and then transfer them to the OKW key? Can I even do that? HELP!:confused3

I want to keep this as easy as possible for the whole crew. They really look to me for all the planning.

Thank you to anyone who can shed some light on the best way to handle.:flower3:

I would personally just use the tickets seperately. Of course I have an AP so my tickets are always seperate. If you have them added to the POR keys you will have to keep those keys to use for enterance when you move over to OKW I believe. Really having 2 cards (a room key and a ticket) for each person shouldn't be too much to keep up with, but do add a name onto each ticket(handwrite) in case you split up.

Good idea. Also since Disney now uses the Biometric finger ID when you go through a turn style (except at the park opening rush) it confirms that that person belongs to that ticket. So if you switch the tickets around between family members, it really slows down the entire line to get into a park.

If a family first uses their passes together, their passes/finger scans are "grouped" in the system so that the passes can be interchanged without problem. Of course, this also means that the person behind and in front of you in line will have their pass grouped with yours - keep an eye on your passes ;)

DS was a gate and ticketing CM for a summer, which is how I first learned this & I have experimented with it since... it works!

As for the passes, I also recommend keeping them just as they are, but if lost they may not be replaceable unless you have a photocopy of the backs. If they're transferred over to your room key they will be identifiable and replaceable if lost. OKW would be able to transfer the remaining days of the passes over to your new keys if you so choose this approach, but expect it to take extra time to do so.

I've had AP's for over 10 years and have never considered it a burden to have a separate ticket. It seems to me you are more likely to run into problems if you keep transferring them to room keys.

Thank you to everyone!

I had thought to just leave them as tickets and not put them on resort keys but wasn't sure if that was the best course of action or not. Sounds like it is.

This is our first 'split' stay so we'll see how it works out. I'm already hearing a little grumbling from the crew on moving to a different resort, but hopefully it will go smoothly.
