Thinking about a split-stay. Has anyone ever booked one where you have bought your park tickets with your first location and then have Beach Club (or Boardwalk, etc) as the second resort in the stay? Is there any problem with access to the International Gateway entrance because the park tickets were on the non-Crescent Lake resort? I assume even if there was an issue, they could fix it, but just curious.

It won’t matter. The Skyliner brings people from many other resorts. The International Gateway is for everyone.

Ok, maybe it was at early-entry, I seem to remember someone being asked where they were staying when scanning in at Int'l GW last year.

You'll have zero issues entering the IG while staying at the Beach Club. The only scanning that might happen is early entry for verifying guests of WDW resorts. Others must wait until regular opening.

It has never been a thing since the International Gateway opened at Epcot. For Early Entry (EE), everyone is admitted past the gate, and guests are held further into the park. Guests with EE entitlements are scanned at the later holding points and allowed in for EE attractions.

Early entry only cares if you’re staying anywhere on site, which you are. I’m sure it will be fine.

I’ve been using the IG since the mid 90s, multiple trips a year. Never once in all that time have I ever been asked where I’m staying. For early entry, your MB is scanned after entry to show you’re a WDW resort guest.

Even if purchased as part of a package, park tickets are never linked to a specific resort just to specific guests. As long as you have valid tickets for the date of entry, you can enter EP from either entrance with zero issues.
