We are active empty nest couple heading to Disney for 6 days early August. We love boardwalk area and normally stay at BC but going to stay at BWV for three or four nights. Then we plan to move to a second resort for two or three nights, but are having trouble deciding between a 1 bedroom villa at BLT or Copper Creek.

All opinions welcome. We like to walk and explore. We had considered staying at BWV for all 6 days, but thinking about shaking it up a bit and trying CCV or BLT.

If we do a split stay, should be do 3/3 or 4/2?

IMO, CCV is more interesting than BLT.
  • CCV is extensively themed; BLT is rather 'corporate'.
  • CCV's two pools are much more interesting than BLT's too small and rather plain pool.
  • CCV's Geyser Points is a great place to sit outside and have a meal and adult beverage. BLT has nothing like it.
  • For a couple of adults, the boat from CCV to MK is more relaxing and entertaining than the walk from BLT.
Don't get me wrong; I like BLT. But based on what you describe, I'd go with CCV.

It terms of stays, I'd do 3/3. You just start getting settled in after a couple of nights. That third night really allows you to enjoy the hotel without feeling rushed.

Personally just stay at BWV.

Otherwise if I have to choose its CCV over BLT. CCV is just all around better. I know some people love the Contemporary though so they likely would prefer BLT.

I'd do a split stay and do Copper Creek. Boat ride over to BLT or MK if you want and then you can walk the path to Grand Floridian. Copper Creek great for a couple and Geyser Point is great for eating outside.

I would vote for a 4/2 split. Do all of your HS, EP, and DS days while you are at BWV, then do MK while you are at CCV/BLT. We always try to do AK on our move day.

CCV/WL has more of a relaxed vibe. So if that's what you are looking for, that would be the better option. If pools are important to you, IMO, they also have the better pools. I really like the 1br at BLT too, but that resort doesn't have the same relaxed vibe as what I get from WL. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. :)

The one other reason I really like BLT is because, on our departure day, we usually only have an hour or two in the morning to go a park, so being super close to MK means we can walk over there for an hour or so and then head back to catch the DME to the airport without having to plan extra time for disney park transportation.
