Split Stay/Dining/ME Question - Please Help!

After just coming home from the world on Sunday, last night my dh suprised me with a trip to SSR in 8 days for a long weekend!! Do you know how hard it is to get ADR's in 8 days!! But I do have a question ... For our first night we could not get any DVC (weird for a Thursday) so we are staying at POP and then transferring to SSR. Will they transfer my luggage? They operator asked how would I get to SSR from POP and why would'nt I just carry my luggage !? And how do I set up ME? I technically have 2 different ressies because the 1st one is cash. I was also a little bummed they would not let me have ddp while at POP because I have an AP and didn't want to buy a package with dining and tickets and she said they do not have a dining only for one night - have you heard of this? I know there are veterans at split stays - so I look to your wealth of knowledge for help!

When I stayed at POP and then went to AKV, I brought my luggage to an area outside the main lobby. I gave the CM there my luggage to be brought over to AKV later that day. There were no problems at all. I used Disney transportation to get over to AKV after enjoying a day at a park.

Set up ME in the two parts. You go through the central reservations for the first part, and then through DVC for the other. At least that's how I did it. I always use on line reservations for the DVC parts. I don't know about the dining plan for non DVC.

Yes, they will transfer your luggage. All Disney resorts offer that.

For ME just set up the transfer from the airport to Pop on the cash reservation and then reserve the transfer from SSR back to the airport on that reservation.

We've only done the DDP once in our lives so I'm not much help with that!

I believe you can only add dining for DVC stays if it is not a pkg.
Don't worry they will transport your luggage from POP to SSR and you can just take the buses to get there when your ready. They will hold your luggage at bell service. Be aware it may be there later in the day so take any meds or bathing suits you may need.
The ME-- I had no problems organizing with split stay. Call MS or you can even do it there when you get there.
Don't sweat it. It will be an awesome time. I wish my Dh would surprise me sometime

Dining plans in the real world (outside DVC) must be purchased as part of a package deal that includes a minimum of a 3-night stay and at least a one-day park ticket for everyone in the room.

Thanks for all your replies! I called ME and that was simple to take care of! I then called back the reservation line and that cm was able to book me one night at POP with my AP discount and ddp for that night. I did not get the dvc discount for the ddp for that night - but that is ok! I was also assured that they would transport my luggage to SSR also! Now all I need is to pack and go!

We'll be in SSR Aug. 14 and 15! I've been going back and forth about getting the QSDP for our 2 nights, 3 days really. There are 2 places we want to eat off site...Giordano's because we found that the Chicago style pizza is just different enough for us to consider it a treat, and IHOP...I'm a pigs in the blanket junkie, especially when someone else is cooking!
