So we are planning a split stay, and planning on giving our bags to the bell hop for transfer to BLT then going to the park, returning to BLT in the late afternoon or early evening.

My question is there a way to check in from the resort you are leaving or check in ahead of time once on property to better secure your room?

I've heard the earlier you check in the better chance of filling your room request.

You currently need to check in in person. If you are going to the MK, just walk over to BLT, check in and return to the park.

The later you check in, the greater the possibility that your room request will not be met.

Sadly the plan is to be at Epcot that day... c'est la vie. I'll plan accordingly. Thanks a lot.

Another option would be to get a taxi and take your bags over to BLT and check-in. This will cut out the tip of the bellhop at your first resort. If you have tons of luggage, then this may not be a good option. You could then take the monorail to Epcot from BLT.

Great idea!

It won't work for our 1st trip as with the neices we are bringing the 6 of us will have quite a bit of luggage. But definately a great option for future trips.

I may just leave our hotel early, check in, and meet them at epcot as well, or leave while they have lunch. Regardless thanks for the info.

Can you send 1 adult out to check in while the rest of the group goes to Epcot? Maybe split up at the entrance to Epcot. One person takes the monorail to BLT.

Yep that's what I think we will do. I'll leave early. Let them eat/wait for the bell hop to pick up the bags, I'll take a bus to MK and walk to BLT to check in, then meet at Epcot.

Hint :woohoo:, go to the front desk at your check out resort and make sure that you get checked out. You won't be able to check in at BLT unless the first resort checks you out first.

I had a 45 minute wait at our 2nd resort because our first resort had not fully checked us out. This issue is a result of their new software for MDE/MB's.

Great tip since I had that issue in the fall. Went from BCV to BWV and did not check out of BCV so it took about 30 minutes for them to check me out of one and check me into the other.

We did a split stay in May (2014) and was able to do on-line checkin at home prior to arriving at BCV. We left BCV around 11am, had our bags transferred to BWV, went to Epcot for the day and arrived at BWV after dinner to get our room assignment. We had no problems using our bands during the day for park entrance or charging. We did not have the DDP.

Do you know if you would have been allowed to enter the Stormalong Bay pool after checkout? I am doing a split stay (BVC/BVW) and was thinking about checking out have lunch in Epcot then relaxing by the pool before checking in at BVW.

I'm sorry, I dom't know. We never got the chance to use SAB:(

So you did online check in for BCV from home, then did online check in from BCV for BWV?

If you don't check in to BWV, there should not be a problem using SAB. If you check in to BWV, the MB might show BWV and the CMs at the entrance won't know you checked out that day from BCV.

Thanks it sounds like my plan for the day will work.

So for split stays, am I reading correctly that online check-in for 2nd resort can be done from online (after check out of 1st resort).......

This would allow the family and parents to go to park and then appear later at front desk for in person check in???

If not, this is going to screw my plans up. 1st resort is AK and will check out that morn for an MK day but need to check into OKW that day fore remainder of vacation

I did online check in AT HOME for both BCV(1st night) and BWV(remainder of nights) for our split stay in May. Sorry if my earlier answer was not clear.

You still have to check in at the resort. The online check in really doesn't do anything in my opinion. If someone gets to the desk before you and requests your scheduled room they can and will bump you to another one. If you are wanting a specific room request your best bet is to follow what Bill said.

I agree. We still checked in at the front desk of BWV, but later on after dinner. We were not requesting any specific room or location.
