We are possibly planning a split stay at the Cabins Ft Wilderness and AK. We plan to arrive very early in the day and go to the water park. We will also go to the water park again the day we move to the next resort.

Which would you choose to stay at 1st, Cabins or AK? Wondering if there is an upside to being at one or the other on our arrival day. Does the cabins hold/move luggage just like any of the other resorts?

Thanks!!

Yes the cabins take and move luggage. The answer to which first might depend on type of room at AK, ie if it is going to be more than a standard room it might be better than the cabin. I always do the best room last. So long as you have the buggy at the cabins, your son will most likely enjoy that more than AK, I think he will find more things to do there or from there. But you might also want to check the nights of some experiences at each resort and how they match up with your plans. For example, the safari at AK, hoop Dee doo at CFW (you may have other experiences in mind). Also (from some of your other posts) you might be having a park day, you might want this near the end or on his birthday and that might influence your order.
If I answer your question with no other data, I know my son would prefer to end at cabins as he liked the buggy best (more than animals). We adults liked the cabins best, as we liked the privacy. We ended at cabins last trip.

We are going to try to avoid a theme park day and only do the water park since it is free next year. In about 10 days we are 7 months out from the trip and since we are using DVC we need to get things booked. I was trying to look up all the schedules but they aren't available that far out yet. We would be skipping hoop de doo but really would want to do the Safari. Do you happen to know if it's just as easy to get to and from the water parks from either resort?

Yes it is equally easy to get to the water parks from either resort, there will be a bus (sometimes via Disney springs). Our experience has been that water park (and Disney springs) buses do seem less frequent than park buses. It is possible to Lyft to the parks. In case you don’t know, at this time (and for quite awhile) they have only had one water park open at a time, this may change, but you might be visiting the same park twice.

It looks like the starlight safari is running every night at the moment so that won’t impact your choices.

Good to know they are equally easy to get to. Decisions, decisions. I may just book in whatever way works out the cheapest point wise then.

Hoping for both water parks to be open but going into it only expecting one.
