Hi ! Debating about doing a split stay while visiting Disneyland for the first time next year in June 2017. Thinking about my first two nights at Disney Paradise Pier and then 4 nights at Best Western Plus Park Place Inn. I am traveling solo and this will probably be my only time out to visit Disneyland. Will not be renting a car so I am wondering if this is a good idea and how this would work getting back and forth between the hotels for check-in/check-out and airport transportation(John Wayne Airport)....thanks for any advice.

If you stay at a Disney hotel, they will hold your luggage past checkout time for you. You can go back later in the day to get it and then go check in at BWPPI. I'm not sure the best way to get over there. I don't think you can haul your luggage across the esplanade, which would be the quickest route. You could walk down Disneyland Drive to Katella and around the Harbor. That's about a mile. Or take a cab.

that is good to know that they would hold my luggage.....maybe a cab or Uber might work...thanks !!:):)

We had done a split stay with BWPPI and Paradise Pier Hotel except we stayed at BWPPI first and then headed over to PPH. We liked ending our stay with a Disney hotel. We just took a cab over to PPH really early in the morning from BWPPI and dropped our luggage with them and headed to EMH at the parks. We had no issues with changing hotels since we pack light. As for travel to the airport (SNA), we usually take a cab but might try Uber next month.

oh that is a thought too:) Would be nice to end the trip at a Disney Hotel:)
Thanks:)

I would download their app and use uber to get from the airport to the hotel as well as hotel to hotel.

You can cross the esplanade with luggage. They will provide an escort.

We did a split stay this week. One night at GCH, followed by three at PPH. A porter took our bags (and myself) over to PP in a golf cart. Stored bags, checked in and got room keys. Were texted when room ready.

Our daughter was staying at Desert Suites and joined us for the last night (she was staying with her school group). Rather than drag her bags through security and the plaza, we hopped an UberX from DI to PPH - cost $5 even.
