Split stay and Refillable mugs

Hi - For the first part of my split stay I have the dining plan but not for the 2nd part of the split stay. Do my mugs still work and if they do is that considered cheating?

Hi!

As far as I know your mugs will only be active for the length of your dining plan. You can continue to use the mugs for water, though! I believe you'd have to purchase new mugs when you check into your second resort.

Interesting question. Some things that I understand:
1. Mugs can be used at any resort, not just the one you are at.
2. A 4 day+ mug is a length of stay mug.
3. The mug is free with the DDP

So now the question: Is the mug that comes with the DDP a "length of stay" mug?

This! Your mug is good for length of stay, even if it's a split stay. The mug is activated for 14 days (you can see your mug's expiration date on the screen when you use the soda machine). We had a three resort split stay that was 17 days long. On the 15th day, my mug didn't work anymore. I went to the cashier at the food court, showed the receipt from when I purchased and activated it, and said "We don't check out for two more days can you please fix this?" and she scanned it an made it work again, no problem.

The “now” confused me. I wasn’t sure if they had finally figured out how to match the mug’s time to the actual length of stay.

This is what I understood as well. Otherwise they would have you pay per day. Last time we were there, we noticed on the bottom of the receipt from the mugs that the date they were valid til was past our check out date.

We did a split stay in March. Two mugs. One was activated for 14 days, the other for 21. I have noticed in the past that the length of time on our mugs (which shows up in the small display at some of the older refill stations, not the Freestyle ones) have varied, but we have never had fewer than 14 days available (although we are not around WDW for that long during any one trip).

I have done this for several years. First couple of nights on DDP, move to new resort with no DDP and mug works for 14 days from date of my original arrival. It's not cheating - it's stated policy.

We stayed at an All-Star resort and got the refillable mugs. We ended up coming back unexpectedly a week or so later and our mugs still worked for that trip!
