We added 2 nights at SSR, AP discount, to the beginning of our June trip. We're then moving over to BWV for 5 nights w/Dining; Can the dining plan be added for the 2 nights at SSR or is it a miniumum amount of nights? Thanks

No minimum! And the credits are good from the moment you check in at the resort until midnight on your checkout day.

We have a value studio booked for our arrival night and a value 1BR for the next 4. We are adding the DxDDP to the studio reservation. This way, we can eat dinner and breakfast at Boma and dinner at LeCellier...and we get the mugs and snacks to save for the rest of the trip. It will cost our family about $190 for the one night on the plan so it is completely worth it. If we get in too late for Boma, we are going to order one adult and one kids meal from room service and split them. That way, we still get Boma and LeCellier the next day.

We are planning on doing this next year too. We are bringing my parents who have only eaten TS at WDW three times in 5 trips. We have studios for the first 2 nights and then a 2BR for the next 3. We're adding the DxDDP for the 2 nights in the studios and we will eat at 5 or 6 TS restaurants. Then, we'll spend the next three days walking it off!:rotfl:

Then the dining plan through CRO for the SSR part works just the same as if it were booked through MS?

It might. With AP discount there may be a minimum stay to add the DDP. I know they did away with the ticket requirement for those in AP rooms, now whether or not they eliminated the minimum stay :confused3 You'll need to call Disney Reservations and ask.

No, you are paying cash and receiving an AP discount so you are not eligible for the DDP on that portion of your stay. CRO has a 3 night minimum on packages also.

So basically apply these rules for DDP:

DDP thru CRO=CRO package, 3 night min, no room discounts applicable

DDP thru DVC=MS has to book, no minimum stay required, No ticket purchase required, must book using points or member discount cash.

Maybe the OP should call and see if there is a cash room at SSR from MS with discount that has a price comparable to her AP discount. Then the 2 day dining plan would work.

I think the no discount rooms applies to Free Dining, not a paid DDP. But the minimum stay may still apply.

:headache: Doh!.....

Pay no attention to my blathering....I had not noticed that you booked the SSR stay through CRO. When I checked the WDW website, you can book a 2 night stay and add tickets and the dining plan. I believe I read somewhere that AP holders can now add a DDP without buying tickets. If that is the case, combining that with the fact that CRO will allow a "package" with the DDP for only 2 nights, I would conclude that you can add the DDP to an AP room. I have never been an AP holder so I am not 100% sure on the benefits.

Sorry for the misinformation:sad2: . I'll need to pay more attention next time!

You should confirm this, but I believe your dining plans will be separate. That means you would have to use your credits from the first part of your stay by midnight of your move day.

Check up on the dining boards there are lots of experts there. The last time I asked this question I was told that there are no minimum stay restrictions (CRO or MS).

Our trip last month was our first split stay and we did as many have suggested. We got the Deluxe plan for the first three nights at AKV and then the basic plan for the six nights at BWV. I never thought I would like moving, but it was not bad at all. We really loved stretching the three night Deluxe plan into four Signature dinners and one character breakfast, then for the rest of the trip we ate at 1 credit places for dinner. I think the Deluxe plan would have been too much food and too much money for nine nights. We felt it was great doing it this way, so much so that I just booked our April trip the same way and since we only bought enough BLT points for three nights, we'll be doing those trips the same way as well.

Just this week I booked an AP stay for one night before my parents check in on points at SSR. I added the Deluxe DDP for just the one night with no problem
