Our trip is NEXT WEEK (FINALLY!!!!!) and I'm reviewing our itnierary and thinking that DD (16 months today ) might get a bit bored at AK all day.

We are only doing 2 park days, one is MK and the other was going to be just AK. Thinking about doing AK in the morning as it is EMH and then heading over to Epcot for the afternoon evening. My other reasoning behind this is as we are tired it'll be much easier to get from Epcot to Poly at night instead of AK to Poly.

So have you done it? Thoughts? I don't want to cut out AK entirely because DD loves animals but she's the type that sees them once and is like "Yup, okay show me the next animal mom".

Thanks!

I have spent the day at Animal Kingdom and then gone to EPCOT for dinner reservations. It really is easy to do, especially with EMH. You shouldn't have an issue.

Thanks! A Tiger will never point me in the wrong direction. War Eagle!

Definitely doable. We always park hop and have never stayed an entire day at AK before. But do you have an AP? Because it's definitely not worth the cost to add park hoppers for just one day.

We typically do AK 1/2 days and then another park sometime after lunch since AK closes much earlier than other parks anyway.

Remember, though that AK isn't just a "zoo"! :) At toddler age, my kids could spend lots of time running around the Boneyard at Dinoland, and really liked Affection Section of Rafiki's Planet Watch (instead of just looking at animals, they can touch them). If I let them, they'd just ride the little train back and forth between there and Conservation Station all day! Have fun.

If the question is: Can it be done? Yes, of course. It's easy to hop between the parks (assuming you have PH tickets). I am not sure why you think your 16 month old would be so bored. When younger, my children loved the animals on the trails, safari, Rafiki planet watch, birds in flight and we had to drag them out of the Dinosaur Dig area so there is lots to do. Would DD enjoy Nemo: the musical. That will take another hour and the FOLK is a must do show for us. AK is a lot of walking as it is big and spread out as is Epcot. It usually took us at least 4-5 hours to get through the park (avoiding the larger attractions).

A lot of people consider AK a half day park and either park hop or head back to the resort after. You'll be able to rest up and give your feet a break on the bus ride over. If you are done with AK, I say head over Epcot and go for as long as you like and DD can handle. We actually split some days on purpose to do one park and then have dinner and the evening elsewhere to break things up.

Jumping on the monorail from Epcot vs. a bus from AK is certainly a lot easier and more desirable a commute!

Have a fun time.:thumbsup2

Thanks!

I forgot about the petting zoo, my only worry with that is she doesn't fully understand 'gentle'. Poor animals ;)

I do have an annual pass so we would only be adding park hopper for DH which helps with the cost.

We went to Epcot a couple months ago and she enjoyed the Nemo ride but I can't imagine she will sit still long enough for the Nemo musical. Hoping that I can take her on the Safari ride, I think she would enjoy that. The little train sounds right up her alley too!

These are great responses, thank you!

Aa 16 month old is going to be happy spending the day with her parents where ever she is:). There is plenty there to keep her happy and stimulated all day long! The Nemo show is bright and busy and quite delightful. I would certainly give it a shot. A simple snack in your bag can get you through a low moment or two. We love to hop to Epcot late in the day. Often we go just for WS and dinner. Your little one will also enjoy strolling around the WS with mom and dad and enjoying time with you! Mom and Dad deserve a bit of fun too.

My kids loved Animal Kingdom - so much so that we ended up cutting a MK day short and spending 1.5 days at AK.....They spent HOURS in the bone yard and the dig site - and when I tried to get them out to go do something else -----HOLY FIT Batman! Needless to say we are building in an extra day at AK for our next trip!
