Can anyone tell me *both* the start and end dates for these refurbs? I don't need it to be the exact date, but maybe from what month - what month (e.g. they were closed from Jan - May).

It looks like those are the "big" rides that will be closed in May. Or is there something else I am missing?

Thanks!

I believe the new Star Tours re-opens June 3rd along with the opening of the Little Mermaid ride at DCA

Yeah, I think Star Tours is June 3 and Splash on May 26th...but does anyone know in which month they closed down?

Splash closed the first Tuesday in January and ST closed late July 2010. I was there at DL that day and rode it on closing day during the evening - one of the last few thousand riders. If you need to be more specific you can look at MousePlanet DLR park updates at www.mouseplanet.com.

Splash closed at the end of Monday, 1/17, which was Martin Luther King Day.

We left the midwest at 3:30pm, flew west, arrived, rented a car, checked into our hotel and quickly unpacked... and made it over to DLR by 8:30pm and went directly to IASW (also closed that day) and then a beeline to Splash, knowing that these rides would be closed for the remainder of our vacation.

Since we bought multiple day hoppers, it came out to less than $10 for the extra day so that we could go into the parks the first night we arrived. Most definitely worth it considering how disappointed my kids would be if they had not been able to go on Splash. Now, IASW, they would not have minded to miss ... but some things they have to do for dear old Mom. :goodvibes

wow, why was splash mountain down so long? after these long refurbs I never notice the difference.
Autotopia needs a big refurb the paint is peeled all over the place, the ashpalt is full of gum, etc. needs some major love.

Star Tours at Disneyland closed on July 27, 2010.

Out of curiosity, why are the closure dates so important? :goodvibes

Glad I could help,

That's right, it was closed on the 18th. I knew it closed during our trip, because we made sure to ride it a few times before then.

Why it's closed so long, they are redoing the loading area to better accomidate the logs they put in a while back.

It's kind of a long story, but essentially, I have some friends that don't seem to "get it". They don't want to miss any of the "good rides", but think that if they pick a Friday instead of a Tuesday, that will solve all of their problems. I was trying to illustrate that some rides are closed for several months. Anyway, like I said, the exact dates weren't important...I was just trying to get a range.

I appreciate the help :-)

Ah, interesting. Some would argue that due to crowds, you would have a better chance at riding on a Tuesday than a weekend. :goodvibes

As for closures, I would say DLR makes every effort to have the "biggies" open during peak times, but there is never a gaurantee of anything. it's a small world (which is very popular) was closed for 8 months.

Best you can do it check "historical" patterns and go from there. :goodvibes
