I know it'll depend on weather, but generally speaking, are these a skip or do in December?

I think it really depends how you feel and the weather. If you consider 50-60 cold then I would avoid it, considering you will get wet unless you wear ponchos. But where is the fun in wearing ponchos on a ride you are meant to get wet on! (I'm too stubborn to wear ponchos on those rides but I do see the popularity behind it)

One thing about Splash Mountain is that when it is a bit cooler out they will turn down the water cannons that actually create the majority of the splash, so you may not get that wet. Just watch from the bridge to see how doused people are getting. I mean, there will always be some splash and you could still get decently wet, but probably not totally soaked.

Kali River Rapids on the other hand has no such control measures. You are likely to get soaked. If it gets too cold they won't run this at all.

We visit only in the winter months. We will absolutely be riding Splash again, hopefully multiple times, even though I did get absolutely drenched the last time I rode it in March. I was not cold though. Last December, we went on Kali, even though we hadn't planned on it, because it was too hot for us in the AK that day and we wanted to get wet, and we were able to FP it. I don't particularly like being hot, so any day with a high in the 80s or higher is a water ride day to me. No day is a water ride day for my husband, but he is okay with Splash.

I wouldn't ride them without having an hour or so of sunshine left though. The sun dries us off quickly when it's there, but I imagine it'd be chilly if we weren't dry by dark.

It depends. Is it sunny or overcast? I've had the misfortune of doing Splash and then it started down pouring (what felt like a coolish rain even though it was August). I've never been so cold and miserable in my life.

I've also done Splash and Kali in late December/early January without too much of a problem. As long as the sun is out, you'll dry off fast enough.
