Hopefully this will give you a laugh - once every couple of months I have a long vivid stress dream that I'm being forced to go on Splash Mountain, and right before the big drop it's some variation of me trying to hold onto the sides of the mountain to stop from going over/getting out of the log and climbing down a set of stairs to avoid it. (Please note, I am a huge drop chicken and am too scared to go on this ride!)

I have no idea why my subconscious has decided to manifest whatever anxieties it's trying to work out as Splash Mountain, but it's my mental nemesis and I'm thinking that if I face my fears and go on it next time we're there the dreams will stop. Now to spend the next couple of months trying to psyche myself up:rotfl2:

It's you mind telling you that you are missing out on one of the best rides at Disney World (my favorite). It's all in your head.

Let me tell you a story of one of my experiences. I use to HATE...SCARED TO DEATH, of roller coasters. When I was younger I was at Cedar Point with a bunch of other younger people like myself. I was just following our group chatting, and didn't notice that we had gotten in line for the highest and fastest (at that time) roller coaster in the country. Not wanting to look like a chicken in front of my peers, I just went. Mind you I was about to wet myself, but hid my fears from everyone. It was the greatest rush I have ever had in my life that day, and from then on I love them. I still don't care for heights, but now I know that it is safe and I have nothing to fear and just enjoy the ride!

You're brave! I cry openly haha. Ironically this ride used to be my absolute favorite when I was a kid and I would go on it 3-4x a day, but at some point in my early 20s that stomach drop feeling became too intense for me and I started to hate it and avoid anything that would give me that sensation.

That is interesting that you use to ride it as a kid and now you can't. I know people that use to love flying, but since they have had kids are deathly afraid to fly. I guess we all have things that we fear. At least you got the chance to experience Splash! Who knows, maybe some day that fear will go away and you will be back riding Splash!
