I'm on the fence. Is it worth the two dinner credits to go to this dinner show? How is the food? If anyone has any pictures to share; I'd love it! Thanks for helping me decide. :goodvibes

We really enjoyed the show and the food as well. Worth the 2 TB to us, more so than HDDR or BBQ!

Thanks for responding so fast! I hope others have comments and pictures to contribute. I'm sure the show is great but my main concern is the food. Anyone else want to share?;)

I dont have pictures-I forgot my camera in the room that evening:sad1:

But, we went in Dec 2008, we had done HDD on all our prior trips, and we love HDD. But I have to say we all (DH, DS (9), and I) all loved SOA even more. The food was better, the show was good, and the service was way better than what we got at HDD. The only thing I liked better at HDD was the dessert, the dessert at SOA was not good at all. We are doing it again in August. We use the DDP but I always pay out of pocket for the shows because we like to have the better seating, just our preference. If it appeals to you I think you should at least try it once.

food was good, but nothing special. Chicken and ribs, you can get it anywhere really. the coconut bread is great. the desert is kind of uninspired, doesn't really fit the theme IMO.

The show is HORRIBLE before dinner, but great after. There is a lot of corny jokes and a lame story line that they go through before they server dinner, it is incredibly boring, probably the worst bit of Disney theater ever produced, I have no idea how it has lasted in this form for this long. After they finish dinner they have a bunch of different Polynesian dances, this is great if you like dancing. I loved it, definitely made up for the torture that is the first half. If you don't like dancing you will probably hate the entire show.

Wow; really? I got the impression there were hula dancers and flame twirlers, etc. Is this the dancing you are referring to or something different? My DD is crazy about anything Hawaiian right now for some reason so I really thought this would excite her. I was glad that this seems to fit for both of our kids since we have a son and a daughter. Any chance to keep my son entertained without having to endure princesses seems worth a try as he gets older. lol!

If you don't want to use 2 credits you should try Ohana for dinner. It is entertaining and still has that Hawaii feel your daughter would like.

Well worth the 2 TS credits for us. And they do have the authentic dancers throughout the show. They also have a some what corny show that is included. I think everyone in your family will like it. Sorry I have no pics either.

We did enjoy the show and food. For us it was a one time thing. We have done HDDR twice and would go back again. The beginning of the show is a little corny story line but after is when it gets good with the dancers.

That's what I wanted to see! That looks like fun! So are the first pictures that were posted part of the beginning of the show that everyone refers to as corny? Does anyone have pictures of the food? Thanks for feeding my curiosity! :thumbsup2

My DD loved it.

I agree, the first half is exceptionally corny. But it's perfect for your younger kid!

I have several pix of SOA on my Picasa site - message me if you want the link. I don't want to post it because it has my real name in the link.

We had a great time. I have tried to make a similar menu for dinners at home. I thought it was really nice that the food was a somewhat lighter fare. We thought the show was good - dancing was really good. Our waitress was very good as well.

I'm at work right now, so I can't post my pics, but we were not a big fan of it :( I most definitly do not think it is worth 2 ts credits, not when there are so many other great places to dine at! The service we had was terribly slow, but god bless her heart, she was about 70( no seriously!):scared1: She wanted to move faster, but she just couldn't! She also couldn't remeber a thing lol

On the food, it was eh.. we didn't care for it. I think this dinner might have been better also if the people next to us weren't racist nascar loving rednecks! With all of that said, I think everyone should try all of te dinner shows at least once!! You may love the food and the show. My kids just were not that into ;/

You can look in my TR for a better review..or some pics! Also, it is long, so if you don't mind that sort of thing go for it!

Oh my goodness that is the funniest response ever! I'm glad you had fun, even with your not so great plate mates. lol! Thanks for the response.

I did not think it was worth the 2 credits. Went in Dec food was good but show was boring.

We loved it. We had a great waiter and the food really was ok. Honestly you have to go with the right mind-set, if you're going to the show after a long day to sit back and relax, this is a FANTASTIC show. I didn't expect a super action-pact show, and neither did any of friends so we quite enjoyed it. Perfect way to end a busy day.

I'm glad I could help!! Please excuse my typos..I'm thinking I should not reply to things when I am dead tired! Have a magical trip!!

We went last summer when our girls were 7 & 9. We went to the late seating thinking dinner would be served during the show & we could go back to MK for EMH . That was not the case! I think it started at 8pm & didn't end until about 10:30. Our girls both fell asleep at the table during the best part of the show. We only expected it to be about 1 1/2 hrs. They were too tired to go back to the park.

The food was eh, but we enjoyed the show. Our waiter was great & made sure we had everything we needed before the main part of the show started b/c they didn't like to disturb the guests while they are watching the show. When he saw the kids weren't eating good he brought them goldfish & pb&j. Although we didn't think the food was great, we did not leave hungry.

I'm glad we tried this & probably wouldn't have without the DDP. We probably would try another show next time just b/c we've "been there done that" & like to see new things. We would probably go back when the kids were older.
