Spirit of Aloha or Hoop Dee Doo?

Starting my planning for next trip and my kids really want to see Hoop Dee Doo again. On the other hand, we've never seen the Spirit of Aloha show. My kids are pretty much happy anywhere in WDW, but I don't want to opt out of something I know they will enjoy in favor of something that may only be passable.

My DW and I have seen both. We had a blast at the HDDR! I would think the kids would enjoy it more also.

The aloha show is good, but if you have ever been to Hawaii and a true luau, it pales in comparison. Stick to Hoop dee doo.

Hoop is great, even over & over & over again.

The luau......yuck. To kids it's probably boring as hell - and the food's not as kid-friendly as at Hoop.

Sometimes it's best to stick with what you know will work!

We never did the Spirit of Aloha, but I've also never read anyone rave about it. For that reason alone, I doubt we'll ever try it.

We have done both. Everyone in our party agreed that the Spirit of Aloha was good but the Hoop Dee Doo is better!

We've done both. We're repeating HDDR this year. I don't want to badmouth the Luau show too much because I fall firmly on the side of "you have to try things for yourself" but none of us enjoyed it very much, I'm afraid, not the food or the show itself. And we love all things Poly normally!

Gee thanks for all the input about HDDR, last trip I did Aloha went with friends going with grown children in November trying to decide whether to do Aloha or HDDR. I think HDDR has won out.

Never done the Luau but we really enjoyed HDDR when we went a few weeks ago. A bit corny, but all in good fun.
