Spirit Airline: Can you choose seats in advance?

No, seats are done at check in, unless you have special needs,
then you can have your TA call spirit and make arrangements
for you.

I will be flying on Spirit this June and ordered my tickets thru Expedia. However, I never picked seats in advance. So should I call Spirit about this? I went to their website and didn't find a spot where you pick your seats.

You could call them and ask, it can't hurt. I think that they are touting some of these new benefits as perks to passengers who book online through their website though..

I am also flying Spirit from Atlantic City to Orlando in June. I also bought my tickets through Expedia (prices were significantly lower than those on the Spirit website for the exact same flights). I called Spirit a couple of days ago after reading about the online tools allowing you to change seat assignments. I was told that since I booked through Expedia, I could not preassign my seats. The rep assured me that they would not separate our young kids from DH and me.

That's interesting Nancy because my brother who is flying on the same flight I am is swearing up and down that he has already signed up for seats?! We bought our tickets at the same time (different computers tho) thru expedia.

He told me he has even gotten an e-mail notice once about his seat assignments being changed?

I bought my tickets direct (was cheaper for me)....prices go down as date approaches. down to $84 from Detroit to Orlando now, I bought when $99, oh well.

I just went to web site and assigned seats. Was easy. Not many people have picked seats yet, and flight is may 13th

:bounce:

I have Spirit booked for June out of Atlantic City; however, I booked my tickets directly thru Spirit online. I just called and the agent told me that if I had booked after April 12, 2003 I would be able to pick seat assignments. However, since I booked prior to that (in February), that option was not available to me. (I'm not sure why the date I booked should matter...) She said I would get my seat assignments at check-in as they normally do, and they make every effort to keep families together (we have 3 kids). She said they would try to put us in one row, 3 on one side and 2 on the other. She said the key is to check in early enough, since seats are assigned on a first come, first served basis. I'm just wondering how this will be affected tho, if enough people assign their seats beforehand.
We have flown Spirit before and have never been split up.

Thanks for the replies everyone!:D

As long as when I check in, I get a seat!!!! :bounce:
