Spirit Air?

How is Spirit Air? My niece and her boyfriend are looking to go to a spring training game in Florida in March. I found the most reasonable price on Spirit from Providence to Ft Myers. How is this airline? Thanks for any information!

We flew spirit to Cancun last year. It was a good flight. Customer service was not great but the airfare was. We are flying Spirit again in April to Disney World.

To the OP--Spirit just announced that each ticketed passenger is allowed to check 1 bag for free, and the second bag will carry a charge of $10.

In answer to your original question, I've never flown them personally, but I have a cousin who flies with them. She and her children have some disabilities that make travelling a big challenge, and the folks at Spirit have been GREAT with her.

there fine, basic discount airline, we use them 2 to 3 times a year to fly to SC where my parent live. One time I had an incident that cost $120 and they reimbursed me for thier error. I think there better than NWA, but thats not very hard.

Two very positive points about Spirit Airlines:

• they have the newest fleet of any domestic airline

• they are one of the few airlines that turns a profit every year, so you have no bankruptcy worries

I've been flying Spirit since about 1996 and never had a problem.

Their newest policy is to charge $10 for a second checked bag (per customer). If their fares are lower than other carriers, it's still worth it. However, in my area, their fares haven't been as low over the past uear as they were in previous years.
