I am waiting to get in for my trial with the spinal stimulator and would love to hear anyone who has had experience with one. I have had nerve pain over my lower ribs for over 21 months with nothing appearing to be seriously wrong with my spine or ribs. During the trial procedure, they will place the leads near the spine first, but they may have to place the leads directly over the ribs to see that will work.

If the stimulator doesn't work, they are going to try a pain pump. I am allergic to many pain meds, so that will be a concern we'll have to deal with if we get that far.

Thanks for sharing your experiences and any advice you can offer!

I haven't had any experience with either of them but I did work in an office that did them. My best estimate would be a mixture of 50/50 saying that the people either got great relief from it or they didn't. I didn't work on the medical side so I can't say anything for certain, but this is just what I heard on my side of things.

I hope you get some relief soon!

thank you for replying Michelle. At this point, any relief is good relief so I am looking forward to getting the trial started. Just wish it weren't going to be another couple of weeks before it happens.

Thanks for the good wishes

This was spoken about not too long ago. Here is the link. huckster had the trial and then the real thing implanted. He may have other posts on the same subject, have a search using his name as thread starter.

All the best to you! :)

You are welcome. I hope the other thread had some stuff to help you. I wasn't aware of it. Hopefully the time passes quickly and you aren't in too much pain between now & then.
