I had to really hunt for incandescent lights last year for the same reasons. I've already bought four boxes this year for my stash.Multicolored, incandescent (pre-lit tree). I can't bring myself to make the switch to LED when it comes to the tree because I just don't like the piercingly bright, cold look. I mean it's not bad and I'm okay with it when other people have them or in other public light displays, but just not for my tree. Until the technology improves and can replicate the warm glow of traditional lights, I'm not switching.
Warning vent ahead. I love, love, love Christmas. I love to decorate and would always have the house decorated for it. Once I was no longer able to get into the attic to get the things down, NOBODY in my house would go up and get the things down for me. For 3 years I went without a tree and was heartbroken. I begged, I cried I was so upset, but still no decorations.
Last year we had a charity auction on TV and they had an already decorated tree. Guess who bought it. While it was a small already decorated one, at least it was a tree and I enjoyed it so much. I put it in a trash bag and left it in the corner of the dining room so this year I will be able to take it out of the trash bag and fluff it up and be ready to go. My mom died in Feb and she had a lovely Santa collection that I got part of. When my DDIL brought it over to me, I left it in the tote and put the trash bag/tree on top of it, so when I decorate next week, I am ready to go!

You realize that the tradition of decorating trees goes back to the Germanic tribes that used to spread the entrails of their enemies on trees as a warning, right? There's nothing Xtian about the tree at all, it's completely a pagan tradition.Traditionalist here. Only clear lights everywhere. Lights represent the North Star that lead the wise men to the Manger and baby Jesus and the North Star certainly wasn't multi-colored.
