Disney and Sony entered into a deal which will give Disney a controlling stake into Spider-Man movies. This allows Spider-Man to be included in Disney produced "MCU" movies. MCU "czar" Kevin Feige will be added as a producer for the next Spider-Man movie, due out July 28, 2017.

The assumption is that Andrew Garfield will be replaced. Whether the 2017 Spider-Man movie will retell his origin (again) is unknown.

This is an amazing thing and it sounds like Spidey will be in Civil War, which makes me think that the 2017 won't be another origin story. I think that it's pretty reasonable to assume that anyone who would go to see a Spiderman movie already has a pretty firm grasp on the fact that Peter Parker got bit by a radioactive spider and voila!

I hope that this is just the first shoe to drop and that we can get Marvel and Fox to get together on a deal to bring Wolverine into the MCU too.

I'm wondering if maybe Spidey won't be the REASON for the Superhero Registration Act. I doubt they introduce the NEw Warriors. There are only 2 movies before... Age of Ultron and Ant-Man. Both are essentially shot and going into post, AFAIK. Yes, Civil War could reference events to get the Act on record, but they need a big thing to cause. Best choice...A new young superhero with radioactive spider powers tries to save the day or interferes with Iron Man or something else like that... all in the name of trying to help and causes something really bad to happen. It's the last straw after the events of the Avengers and Age of Ultron so they pass the Act. Tony Stark takes a young Peter Parker under his wing, sets him up at Stark Labs, etc. Cap sees it as fascist and fights back. We get some of the other heroes to weigh in (maybe even the TV and Netflix ones) and big fight ensues.

The big questions:

Will the Civil War end the same as the comics?

Will the Civil Was last past one movie... To me, this could actually be fought out over a few movies and the TV shows/Netflix Shows... I mean Dr Strange is next... easy to do an orgin story and include in Civil War OR Leave it independent. Guardians 2 will exist to help setup the Infinity War storyline. Spiderman could see the end of Civil War. And then Thor. This could also end Civil War, but might also be used for aftermath of Civil War and more importantly the final aspects to set up Avengers 3... The big questions is WHEN will Thanos get and activate the Infinity Guantlet - if they follow the comics, thats a huge setup... when do you do it... I assumed it would happen at the end of Part 1, the aftermath stories shown in Netflix and Shield (assuming its on the air), Captain Marvel and Black Panther movies and then the Fight against Thanos bringing EVERYONE together from Avengers, plus Guardians, Spidey, Dr Strange, Ant Man, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel in Part 2.

My guess though is Civil War is over by Spidey... Thor Raganarok ends with Asgard being Destroyed and Thanos getting his hands on all but the last Gem, and then the first Infinity War is about the race to get the last Gem with Thanos winning and triggering the Gauntlet at the end of Part 1. In Black Panther and Captain Marvel, the heroes deal with the aftermath... Captain Marvel being the critical piece (I'm not sure how BP fits so I'll be interested to watch) and then Part 2 becomes about defeating Thanos.

I also wonder if they will try to talk Fox into doing something with the FF or the X-Men.

Too bad they already burned the Dark Phoenix and Days of Future Past storylines. I think Disney Marvel could do amazing things with them.

Also, with Avengers 2 being far enough out, I think they could possibly do some re-shoots for the end that include Spider-Man and setting up the Civil War. Even if it's just one of those extra scenes after the credits.

That's a really interesting thought, I'd assumed that Age of Ultron would kick off the Registration Act. Stark makes Ultron, New York gets destroyed while fighting him and the absolute amount of damage pressures the government into the Act. Stark, upset for what he caused and already a public figure, leads the group for the Act, like in the books, while Cap continues against it while both groups fight over Spidey.

I could definitely see the Civil War spreading out over several movies, and since there really isn't a place for it to spill out after Cap 3, I figured that we'd be dealing with it in the first part of Infinity War. Movie starts out with Stark and Cap still at odds, while Thanos gathers the last stone. He triggers the Gauntlet at the end of part 1 and it forces everyone to put aside the differences of the last few years to battle him in part 2.

They did, but if Marvel and Fox could work out their differences, an Avengers v. X-Men movie (with the Phoenix Force) would be amazing.

or that the marvel movies/tv shows can use the word "mutant" for the first time...
