we have never eaten here and would love to try it the end of May. The small plates look interesting. Would love to get a bunch of these.

Also, how is the view of IllumiNations. Is the sitting inside, outside of both?

Thanks.

We ate there last year for Illuminations. The view is partially obstructed by an island, but it's not too bad. If I remember correctly, the trees on the island semi block the globe when it comes out.

On our trip two weeks ago we ate at Rose and Crown one night for Illuminations (HIGHLY recommend) and watched it from in front of Canada another night. My family agreed that we've been spoiled by eating in restaurants and watching Illuminations and do not enjoy the pushing and budging when we're around the lagoon watching. I would rather watch from Spice Road Table than standing around the lagoon, but we've seen Illuminations many times.

The food is great! I didn't do the small plates and DH and I ordered the entrees. The rack of lamb was my favorite, but the mixed grill skewers are really good too. The mixed grill meats were very spicy, if you like spice! (I do!) One of my dd's ordered the lamb sliders, which were also good.

They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat indoors (my request) and they lower the lights and pipe in the music.

HTH!!

Thanks so much for your review. We have eaten outside at R&C outside for IllumiNations and loved the view. I cannot get it for the night we need but could get a Spice Road Table so thought we would try something different. Hoping for a nice night as I really love sitting outside. The lamb sliders is what I was interested in. My DH does not like spicy food so I'll have to find something mild for him.

The rack of lamb was not spicy. It had a corriander rub on the outside. The mixed grill has harissa sauce on it, which makes it spicy but I think you can get it without or with less sauce.

Yeah, nothing beats a patio seat at R&C!! :thumbsup2 But I would definitely eat at Spice Road Table again. Probably the patio the next time.

Glad to help!

There are indoor and outdoor seating. At each there are about 5-6 tables along the rail/window. Outside you would have a view even if the next row in but any of the rest of the tables you would have roof, columns etc in your way. There is no where to stand and watch, you would have to stay at your table. Since I've seen it numerous times I would be okay but if you really want a view, I would not book expecting one - I would eat earlier then find a spot somewhere. Agree with PP your view is obstructed by an island even if lucky enough to get a rail seat.

At bottom of picture you can see I'm at the rail so this is the entire width of the patio ...

Further in you will have things in your way. Everyone will deal with the island.

We love Spice Road Table.. Love the lamb and skewers, easily could be share.. the calamari is the one of the best I have ever had.. Indoor seating the window are tall and skinny and spaced apart so not a sweeping view. If you are a table of 2 more than likely you will not get a window seat. I am pretty sure the window seats are all 4 tops. Outdoor for a party of 2 you might fair better with a table a better view.

I love the small plates at Spice Road. The Brie Fondue and Hummus Fries might be something your husband would enjoy. Neither are spicy but both are quite good. The hummus fries are not attractive at all lol but they taste delicious. I also enjoy the calamari and the spicy shrimp. I have sampled the lamb slider and it is good as well. Spice Road is one of my fave spots for sharing apps at WDW.

Thanks for the reviews. I am looking forward to eating there this weekend. Can you do a walk up or do we really need an ADR for 2 guest/early dinner?

We've always walked up.

My wife and I ate hear earlier this month and really enjoyed our meal. We ordered 3 small plates (fried calamari, spicy garlic shrimp, fish croquettes), split a mix grill skewers and shared a pitcher of sangria and we were stuffed. Everything was very good (although the fish croquettes were on the boring side) and would certainly return. I personally don't like going to a restaurant with the intent of watching IllumiNations or Wishes from it. Unless you just intend to have it in the background of your meal with no plans on really watching, aren't counting on a table with a view and plan on seeing it at some other point of your trip, you are better off eating earlier (6-6:30) and then finding a spot after.

We walked up for a lunch here last August. We were a party of 8. It was really good. We started with ordering 1 of every small plate on the menu plus a pitcher of sangria for us 2 moms and beers for the 2 dads. We then got seconds of the plates we all really liked most. The humus fries or whatever they are called were soooo good. We also got one pyramid dessert for the 4 teens and 1 baklava dessert for us 4 adults and each had a nibble which was just fine. But man was it all very good.

My sister and I had a lovely outside table along the water one afternoon; wonderful view.
Loved the hummus and the Sangria! :thumbsup2
We were not crazy about the lamb sliders; just our opinion of course.
The service was excellent - very friendly.

My DH & I ate there for an early dinner. We did not like at all. The lamb wasn't spicy & really wasn't good, the garlic shrimp wasn't great either. But the final nail was the service, it was horrible. Different servers would pass by, never the same person & they would ask my DH if needed/wanted anything but not me. One actually came by & took my plate from me without asking if I was finished & came by throwing the bill on the table & walking off. Never again.
