Quick (kinda) question in regards to spending money. I am just trying to figure out how much we (my wife and I) should take to Disneyworld. We have the whole trip paid for (except dining) and we are trying to figure what would be adaquate for us to have fun.

We are going March 24th - March 31st staying at the all star sports resort. We will be in the parks for 5 days and 1 day to see the other resorts. We opted out of the dining plan (as our travel agent said aith just the 2 of us we might be better without it). We have reserved 1 charecter dining (crystal palace) and a dinner at Sanaa (animal kingdom resort).

So all we have to pay for is dining and souveniers... We were thinking about $2,500 for the 2 of us but was woundering if that would work. This is (kind of) our first visit... We went for one day last year (MK just because we were in Orlando for a day) and want to have a good time. Thanks for any input!!

I would suggest going to look at the menu and the prices of where you are eating. Even the QS places just to get a rough estimate. How much to bring is different for everyone. That seems like way more than enough money to me. Are you doing anything special segway tours ect.

Last year my family of 4 went for 10 days we did have our dining included and spent just a little over 500.00. We usually spend alot more than that. This year we are going for 15 nights and I plan to bring 1500.00 and our food is included. We probably won't spend that much but I like to have extra.

You can get the prices on your two reservations by going up and clicking on "dining" on the blue bar at the top of this page then looking at the menus or by going to allears.net and looking at the restaurant menus. You can also get your QS prices for other meals.

Now for other spending, that's something you'll have to figure out. How much stuff do you want to buy? I know DH and I will each come home with a t-shirt or two or three, no matter how much we say we won't, and DH will get a hat and I will come home with jewelry and something for the christmas tree and other odds-and-ends that weren't planned for. Do you like buying tchotchkes and/or location t-shirts or not? Will you buy anything for relatives/friends at home?

I kind of know now how much spending money we'll need, based on past trips, but my first trip was just a wild guess too, so don't feel badly!

For DH and I, including about 3-4 TS meals, for 7 to 8 days, I usually have about 600 to 1K in rewards on my Disney Chase card and about $200 to $450 cash sitting in the Disney fund for that purpose. We buy everything under the sun (within reason of course - we don't collect anything pricey that Disney sells) and eat where we want when we want. We do breakfast at QS, lunch at QS and dinner about half/half off-property and TS and buy what we feel like. We also go to Universal, and I MUST buy HP stuff, lots of it, while I'm there. So far, I've always run a small balance to our side at the end of the trip.

$2.5K should be way more than enough for 5 days unless you really plan to go crazy with those tchotchkes!

Personally, I think $2500 is on the high side for 2 people. Everyone is different though.

For our upcoming trip, I have less than $1500 budgeted for food & souvenirs for 3 adults and 1 toddler for a 7night/8day stay (and that's an over-estimate)
We're planning on 6 TS meals (incl gratuity) 15 CS meals, and a handful of snacks for all of us.
We're not big souvenir people, so I doubt we'll spend more than $50 a piece.

2500 for food and souvineres for two people and 6 days is way high. Thats over $400 a day. For two figure about $40 for breakfast $50 for lunch and $75 for dinner all of which is probably on the high end. Figure maybe $200 for souvineres unless you want to buy jewelry and artwork. That only comes out to about $1200 for the week and ill bet you don't even spend that

This post is pretty accurate. The dinner budget will probably be lower because you only have 2 table service meals scheduled. If you don't have dinner reservations, the chances of you getting something during Easter week are pretty slim unless you're okay with eating super early (like 4:00) or super late (like 9:00). Your budget of $2500 is a DREAM budget for me. I could do some serious damage at Downtown Disney with that kind of spending $$ :woohoo:
