I got a call today from my Dad. He has been living near us since his divorce 4 years ago. He spent the day with us yesterday.
He called to tell me it was the best Christmas he's ever had. (not because of the lame gifts we gave him) because we included him. Because he didn't have to sit home alone in his apartment on Christmas day. (we got together with him on the eves the past few years) He ate and kept commenting on the great food.
It just touched my heart so. First off he's my Dad. He's not perfect but he's my Dad he's welcome here anytime. But to hear how much we mean to him and those special "I love you" from a guy that doesn't say it. Well this was a very special Christmas.
Just a reminder to maybe reach out a little to people. It can mean the world to them.

What a wonderful message to post! I'm glad that your dad had a good Christmas and that you enjoyed your holiday together.
