My wife got me one of these to celebrate a weight loss journey I've been on for years now. I will be at the Poly on a solo trip for a conference in about a month and was wondering if I could wear this to a corner of the quiet pool at to shrink some of my tanlines.

So is it ridiculous to even consider? I know it's skimpy, but damn some of the things the ladies wear to the water parks are something to behold.

I just know I never see them anywhere, so was wondering if it's basically socially unacceptable to wear one of these things anymore.

My thought is I would wear it under some workout pants to the pool and once I can find a secluded spot, lay out for about an hour to get some rays.

Would love to get everyone's thoughts, no wrong answers. 🤓

You guys are awesome, thanks for the feedback!

Seems things have changed. I had found a thread from ten years ago and it seemed the overall majority here had quite a negative attitude toward it.

That is a typical mens' bathing suit for Europeans. In the US, men typically wear a much looser-fitting suit but really what it comes down to is a matter freedom of choice. Wear the bathing suit YOU like. Congrats on losing weight!

Will you be wearing the socks too?????

In my old grandma ways, and considering I have handkerchiefs bigger than a lot of women's swim suits..........I'd say go for it.

LOL, that would bring it to a whole new level of hilarity!

Thanks guys so much for the positive responses. Hope everyone has a great holiday!

Do it.
And congrats on your weight loss! :)

Congrats on the weight loss. If people can walk around the parks with their *** cheeks hanging out then a speedo at the pool should not even be a 2nd thought.
😍😍😍

Thank you, it has been a helluva journey. I let myself get pretty big when I was in my 30's. Losing weight at my age is like pulling teeth. Hopefully I can hang onto it, maybe even drop a few more.

When the kids from South America come up in July all sexes wear those at the waterparks

Look for the flag

Hi OP: Congratulations on your weight loss! I know how difficult that is to do.
However, I wouldn't wear a speedo because I think it shows more than a regular swim suit does. I guess I am old fashioned, but I am 72 y/o.
I don't know why, but I just feel that way. I am a more modest person and that probably plays into it.
But you should do what you want to.

Thank you for the feedback! 10 years ago, the vast majority of posters agreed with you.

It seems societal feelings toward this topic could have shifted a bit. But yes, I'm looking for all honest feedback, so thanks!

Lol...this is one of the funniest posts I've read in a long time so thank you for that :) On the off-chance this is a real question...I mean I guess all can do whatever they like...within reason, so if it's something you really want to do I guess go for it. No way in the world would I ever or would I ever want to be with someone who was (just like I'd never nor would I ever want to be around a woman wearing a thong or something really skimpy.) I'm not really a conservative type person when it comes to clothes, but I also don't understand or have any wish to or think it's at all attractive to wearing skimpy things like that...especially at a family place, but obviously that's just my opinion.

If it were me and I was for some reason wanting to tan my skin that was that far up, I'd just roll my shorts/trunks up while I was laying out.

I wouldn't worry about it. A speedo is a regular bathing suit for men. If people have a problem with what someone else is wearing, as long as the item is within the rules, then that's their issue.

Next month is January, otherwise known as the closest thing we have to winter in Florida. It could be in the 20s or it could be in the 80s. If that’s pool weather for you, then go for it! Congrats on the weight loss. You look great.
