Spectromagic's return? Any ideas, info, rumors?

Good morning, friends! Anybody have anything to contribute to this topic? I saw MSEP in November - I'm ready for Spectro to come back...

I didn't realize it was gone. That is one of my favorite parades. I will be in Disney at the end of November and really hope to see it!

Wasn't it moved back to WDW from DCA because of some sort of construction or change in paths there and then when it all got sorted out at DCA it would move back.

So has everything been sorted out at DCA? And it has would it move back?

Sorry if this doesn't make sense I picked up a bug in FL and its clouding my brain.

I had a thought that maybe they were switching out all the bulbs to LED just like they did at Osborne lights and on Cinderellas Castle. I wonder if that's a possibility?

I have heard from these boards and from some CM's that the floats are too damaged for them to be moved across country like The MSEP was. Some termites think there delicious!

Which parade floats are you talking about?

It was my impression that Specro is still in FL and isn't playing anywhere.

I am talking about the Spectro floats. Your impression is correct.

DCA construction won't be finished until next summer, but with the new World Of Color show they are maxed out on evening entertainment in both parks. The DCA parade route goes right by the WOC viewing area.

I hope they leave MSEP at least until my Dec 2011 trip. That's the parade I grew up with and I love it.

Just wasn't a big fan of Spectro - maybe they should have Spectro in DHS on the nights they don't have Fantasmic (hopefully I spelled that right!) That way everyone is happy.

I agree, we are going in December and I think my kids would LOVE it.

So to sum it up. There are two reasons why MSEP came back to WDW.

One, with construction and the new WoC show they couldn't run it at DCA.

Two, last spring, with the downturn in the economy, Disney decided to do something special for summer. They did the special Pirates and Princess Fireworks and someone said something like "Hey the MSEP is just sitting CA why don't we bring it back and get some nostalgia going (worked for me). After the summer was over, there was still no home for the MSEP and probably due to some surveys people liked it so it stayed.

I guess the issue is now, Disney has two parades in WDW and only one slot. It would be great if they ran them both, but there would be staffing and maintenance issues that could drive up the overall cost of parade entertainment.

So is there any night time parade in Disneyland now?

No. And even when MSEP was in California it only showed during the summer and 2 weeks at Christmas. In fact they have NO parade until the end of May. Disneyland's nighttime entertainment is Fantasmic! and fireworks, while DCA has WOC.

Forgot about DL F! so it looks like if MSEP has no home they have no reason to stop running it as long as it gets good reviews.

Agreed!! Really don't enjoy MSEP at all.

We like them both, but I'm glad my kids are getting to see MSEP this year. They loved it in January, and we're getting to see it again in a couple of weeks. Very fun!

My girlfriend and I love Spectro also, but she has never had a chance to see MSEP. I would like to see it stick around until October just so she can at least say she got a chance to see it, but if it leaves before then it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Hoping to see MSEP. According to the Disney calendar, when we are there from 9/24-10/1, MSEP is on the calendar. Of course it could change but as of now if it does come back in the fall, it would be after September.

Do any CM's who post here on the DIS possibly have any information about Spectro? I miss it!
