Visiting July 18th-25th and Specromagic is showing nightly at 9pm. With this many shows, is 1 hr early enough to grab a good spot on Main Street?

Sorry, but I don't think so.

We just saw Spectromagic on Tuesday night, and we got to Magic Kingdom at 7:45, and ALL "curbs" were taken. We were second row, on the curb in front of the big candy store.

Now, this may have been because this was the only Spectromagic parade during the whole week we were there. (I think).

Maybe when it runs more frequently, it's easier to get a spot.

But for us, 1 hour and 15 minutes early was not early enough to get on the curb.

Hope this helps.

We went in Aug. 2002 and Spectro was showing every night. WE arrived an hour early and barely got a tiny space on the curb. Actually we were right behind in the second row, and a very nice lady squeezed her family together so that DD and I could sit, DH & DS said behind us.

We plan on getting their 11/2 hour early just to be on the safe side.

Of course this could have been an anamole, but I would err on the side of caution just to be sure we got a spot.

zippehsmom:D

We were there in Aug 2002 and we got a curb seat about an hour and a half ahead of time. It really started to get crowded about an 15 min after we got a seat.

We just came back a month ago and we attempted to get a curb seat at 7:30 but everything was taken. One mistake a few people, including us, were making was sitting on the seats in the big circle in front of the castle. The parade route does not come through on the side of the circle that faces adventureland but does go on the side that faces tommorland. Just something to keep in mind.

It may not be enough time if you are trying for Main Street.

But.....that should be plenty enough time for a great seat in Liberty Square!::yes::
IMHO....the best seats we've ever gotten for the parade are the ones right across from the Christmas shop! No one is allowed to stay on the bridge once the parade starts, so you have a clear view as they come over the bridge.

If you really want Main Street.....try about an hour and a half before it starts....that should be enough time.

When our family went 5 yrs ago, we had special seating on that bridge. Luckily I made contact with someone thru DIS who worked on Main Street and learned it was my family's first visit to WDW. She arranged this special treat for us. (God Bless the Diser's). :lovestruc: The view was incredible I still get goosebumps whenever I hear the Spectro magic music. .:hyper:

We tried to see the show another night 45 minutes before show time impossible to get near any curb you had to stand and only could see anything above ground level.

I now know when we go in 4 weeks (Our 2nd trip, Whooo Hoooo). Plan on arriving early, maybe with a little snack action. I am getting excited just thinking about the parade

An hour is enough time for Frontierland/ Liberty Square- better figure an hour and a half for Main Street. A lot of people start getting spots even earlier than that. To me, it is better to walk to Frontierland, as it is almost always less crowded (a relative term :)).

If you can stay up, the second showing is always less crowded and you can get a good spot 20-30 minutes before :) We leave the park for a swim and a long nap and come back around 7PM. Get through Main Street before the congestion starts and hit a few rides during the first parade. Just another alternative :)

Blessings.
