Spectators getting to MK for half

If you wanted to be on Main Street at 7:00 a.m. for the half what would you do? Starting from POR.

I read that bus service is suspended between 5:00 and 7:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Is that just the special marathon weekend busses?

The MK is open for spectators, correct? Spectator are limited to Main Street? Does it require a ticket? Will MK bus service run 5:00 to 7:00? Or do spectators have to use another way to the TTC because MK doesn't open until 9:00?

Best option – Get on a marathon bus by 4:00 (leaving room for a runner if the bus fills). Set with you in the family reunion area until you leave for the start. Then head to the monorail. This is the Disney way

Next Best – Taxi to TTC around 6. TTC remains open to vehicle traffic. Then TTC to MK.

Last Option – Drive to the MK Parking Lot. One of the back gates are open from early AM parking. Just head N on Bonnet Creek, left on Vista and then North on World. Look left and you will see the open gate. A u-turn at the next opening in the esplanade will be required.

MK is open on Main only for Spectators. No tix required. Yelling and CHEERING for all runners is.

MK busses will only run to parks on their normal schedules. That is an hour pre-park opening. That will not help.

Thanks Charles. Good to know TTC is still open to cars. We'll have a rental, but then would have to get back to TTC after the finish.

Decisions, decisions.

Would driving to Epcot after the start, taking the monorail to TTC/MK be an option? We'd end up in the same place as the car.

Once they shut down the lot entrance it's closed til 7 ISH. Both lanes are in use for the half. We run N Bound on the start and then S Bound as we return. Even if they could get in just after the start they would be waiting in line for the monorail with the thousands of other spectators.

I just want to be clear that the MK Parking lot not TTC is the drive point. There will be a walk from the car to TTC. The taxi option would drop at the TTC directly.

You could drive to the race and they could taxi? Just a thought. Gives you protection from the chill in the morning. Just a thought. Sounds a lot like kiddos involved so I am thinking that the drive to MK Parking may be the option you are looking at.
