If my husband meets me right outside of MGM during the last part of the marathon, can he walk/run with me to the finish as long as he has a ticket for epcot. I have done the marathon for two years but I can't remember if it goes anywhere besides the boardwalk on the way to epcot. Last year, I was swept at mile 23:scared1: of the Goofy so I was hoping that having him there would be a good motivator for me.
Thanks,
Z

It might take some planning to meet up once you are both inside but I don't see why you couldn't. I don't think you would both enter in the same place. Not sure if they would stop him at the exit of Epcot on the way to the finish.

i think as long as he has a ticket and doesn't cross the finish line he should be fine. my sister met my mom the last 1.2 miles for her first marathon and it was totally not a problem. just make sure your husband is wearing sneakers and running clothes so he can keep up with you!

Short answer NO. He will/should be asked to leave the course. The side walk from the Studios to Epcot gets very crowded and congested. It is not fair to others who are attempting to share the same piece of concrete.

Once in Epcot, the course is seperated by cones and he will be an obvious non-participant through Epcot. Obviously he would not be allowed in the abckstage areas as you enter and leave Epcot.

He could walk outside the course as you work your way around the World Showcase. I do not think the voluntears/security would challenge that.

Depending on your speed and his, why not have him meet you at the Atlantic Dance Hall (Mile 24+) It will give you a little boost once you leave the Studios knowing he will be waiting. Then he can jog around the Boardwalk side of Crescent Lake and enter Epcot and wait for you in England. From there he has the short rout to the front of the park and out to the finish where he can cheer you on from the grassy area about a tenth of a mile from the finish.

Also, don't fret on last year. It can become a self-fulfilling (and repeating) prophecy if you are focussed on the past. Take the remaining weeks to build endurance, work on strength and get a great mental focus from training. Take lessons learned through tough training days into the race knowing that you can work around any issue that presents itself on race day.
