I just heard a fairly detailed description on a podcast, but I won't give away
any big spoilers. Basically, every detail of the trip is handled by the tour
guides. You don't have to handle your luggage from place to place.
ABD
makes all arrangements for it to be at your hotel when you arrive.
For the tour being discussed on the podcast, it was the London/Paris tour.
I don't think it's a spoiler to say that while people were waiting in long lines
for tourist spots, the ABD groups had a "FastPass" to the front of lines just
about everywhere they went. The people in the ABD group felt like VIPs
and thought the other people waiting in lines wondered, "Why are they so
special to get into the front of the line first?"
There are other surprise "WOW" moments that I refuse to spoil and repeat
here, but they are surprises that nobody would have predicted or expected.
To put it into terms I could relate to without giving away details, I would equate
it to someone arranging me to have a meal at Club 33 in
Disneyland. I don't
have any connections. The podcast guest felt ABD had major connections in
that respect.
I'm doing my first ABD next December, and I'm really looking forward to it.
