Special Touches/Surprises?

Many of you have talked about the special touches and surprises that only Disney/ABD can provide - what are examples of some of those?

I just heard a fairly detailed description on a podcast, but I won't give away
any big spoilers. Basically, every detail of the trip is handled by the tour
guides. You don't have to handle your luggage from place to place. ABD
makes all arrangements for it to be at your hotel when you arrive.

For the tour being discussed on the podcast, it was the London/Paris tour.
I don't think it's a spoiler to say that while people were waiting in long lines
for tourist spots, the ABD groups had a "FastPass" to the front of lines just
about everywhere they went. The people in the ABD group felt like VIPs
and thought the other people waiting in lines wondered, "Why are they so
special to get into the front of the line first?"

There are other surprise "WOW" moments that I refuse to spoil and repeat
here, but they are surprises that nobody would have predicted or expected.
To put it into terms I could relate to without giving away details, I would equate
it to someone arranging me to have a meal at Club 33 in Disneyland. I don't
have any connections. The podcast guest felt ABD had major connections in
that respect.

I'm doing my first ABD next December, and I'm really looking forward to it.

i was talking to an ABD rep who told me that during a quest for the west adventure, one of the girls was dying to go swimming except that swimming wasn't an option anywhere so the guides tracked down a pool at the YMCA and arranged for the girl to go swimming.

she said the guides are magic and if there was anything you wanted, you shouldn't hesitate to ask.

it doesn't speak much for connections, but i found out today that if you extent a night on the backstage magic tour for example at the GCH, it's quite a bit cheaper than booking it on your own. i'm sure they do have plenty of deals worked out for their guests all over.

The above posters are correct in not giving away the surprises, it really adds to the magic of the tour, and I would hate to spoil it for anyone else.

I can however cite one personal surprise as it is not part of the trip routine. At the Sorrento Hilton, our family of 4 was booked into a quad room. These rooms have no view of the Bay of Naples. That's just the way it is. You look at the parking lot. Our guide Dusty knew of a single triple room that could actually sleep 4- with the most stunning view of the bay- and at checkin he got us that room instead. That's the type of magic you get with ABD.

I am only vaguely aware of Adventures by Disney. I know what my friends and I like though. We are all pretty much agreed that we love Disney and trains.

We were watching a video about great railway journeys and got into a discussion about famous or historical trains like the Orient Express and the Trans-Siberian Railroad. It was fun and raised a fun question for me. Does Disney have any railroad journeys in Adventures by Disney?

Here's the webpage that explains why you should travel with Disney. We've gone on two ABDs last year and will be going on the Enchanted China adventure this year. I'm also hesitant to give away any of the special Disney touches & surprises, but you won't be disappointed.
