Special Tomato Vs. Adaptive Star Lassen. Any Experience?

We are trying to decide on a rental stroller for our son with Down Syndrome. He is 11 and around 90lbs. Trying to decide between the Special Tomato Jogger, Special Tomato Pushchair, or Adaptive Star Lassen. Looked at the Maclaren because it is so lightweight, but we need a canopy, so we ruled it out. Does anyone have any experience with any of these strollers, and advice on which to choose? Thanks!

I liked to use www.adaptivemall.com to compare strollers. I'm at work and can't look it up right now, but I think they carry each of those model and if I recall there was a "compare" feature on the website.

One thing that was big for us when choosing an adaptive stroller was size and weight of the stroller because we always use WDW buses. What I recall off the stop of my head for those 3 choices, I believe the Adaptive Star Lassen is going to be more bulky and heavier than either Special Tomato stroller, but the Special Tomato strollers always seemed smaller to me, especially for a kid who might be near the top of their size range. We ultimately ended up buying a used Maclaren Major and bought the add-on canopy, but we got it when DD was maybe 7 and still had many years left to use it; at 11 your son will probably outgrow it soon.

I also use adaptivemall.com to compare strollers.

One thing to look at is height - some go up pretty high in weight, but the height might only be 48 inches.
Also, look at how easily your child will get in and out because they will be doing that a lot of WDW. Some look easier than others.
Orlando Medical Rentals has to largest selection of special needs strollers for rent. As far as I can see, none of them have a tie down option for attaching to buses, so he would need to transfer out and you will need to fold it.

Ooooh, good call on the height check. I had checked the height on the Lassen, but not the Special Tomato, and he is right at the top of the height range for that one. I had been leaning towards the Special Tomato because it was less bulky, but that has made me rethink that. Thanks!
