Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to offer my opinion of the rental of a special needs stroller for those of you that may need one while on vacation at WDW. I recently rented from www.OrlandoStrollerRentals.com for an upcoming trip and spoke with Shannon, the owner, who was very sweet and patient answering all of my questions. Because I booked a few days before Disney released their new deal (buy 4 get 3 free) I had booked for different days. With the release of this info I rebooked and ended up changing the dates to take advantage of the offer. I e-mailed Shannon, hoping it wouldn't be a problem to change my reservation and received an e-mail back within 10 minutes letting me know it wasn't a problem. She is going to deliver the stroller to our resort and pick it up and the cost was very reasonable, probably cheaper than renting a stroller in WDW, which we have done in the past but our son is now to big for. I will post after our vacation with more details on the stroller but thought I would let you all know that the customer service from OrlandoStrollerRental has been terrific thus far!!! Hope this helps some of you with children who may benefit from a stroller while at Disney.

Ronda;
Thanks for the review; tell Shannon the Creans said hi! I hope you have a great trip, and that your report back on your adventures:cool1: :cool1:

Do you know what brand of special needs stroller it is? DD is going to need one for our trip next year as she has almost outgrown her regular McClaren. We have been looking at the special needs McClaren.

It's the baby jogger liberty. Not quite as small as the McClaren, but great canopy for shade or "nesting" purposes, and sooooo easy to maneuver! You can see a picture on her website.

Does anyone know up to what weight this will hold. We are going to Disney December 21 -26 - basically the first time since Clay's MAW trip in 2000. Clay and his twin and older brother all have a mitochondrial disorder. They all walk, but Clay and my 15 year old are tube fed and get tired easily, especially Clay who overheats easily and also has seizures. We currently do not have a wheelchair/stroller at home yet and will most likely be working on getting one - BUT no way will we jump thru the insurance hoops by December 19th when I leave to drive down.

Clay is 11 and barely 50 pounds and will be the one using the stroller mostly. He is about 50 inches. Jake is 15 and about 5'4 and 98 pounds. Would this stroller anyone know be able to accomade both weights - not at the same time?

Thanks
Sharon

that this stroller will hold 100 pounds and that she was 5'4" and she fit into it. She was more than happy to answer any questions that I had and assured me that my son who is right around 100 pounds would fit comfortably in the special needs stroller.

This is a link to the actual Liberty Special Needs stroller webpage.
The stroller is made by Advanced Mobility, which is the special needs division of the Baby Jogger company. This page has a gallery where you can see pictures of their various products in use with testimonials.

I think you will find that the stroller works for a 50 pound child or a 100 pound child quite well. The one thing that may be a bit difficult is getting out of it since the person seated in it is sitting quite far back. Since they are using it for fatigue rather than for a condition that would make it hard for them to move, they should not a have a problem getting in and out.

Thanks so much. I have emailed her about it to see if it is available. We will be there 12/21-12/26.

Thanks
Sharon
