I know this sounds crazy and gimmicky, but has anyone tried it? Is it healthy/safe? I am thinking that it could help me cut out cravings if all I eat for 2 meals is cereal. I do take a multi-vitamin every day. Any insight?

I *think* the reason it works is your lowering your calorie intake... it'd probably work with anything if you ate the same amount of cals (and prob fibre) for those two meals kwim?

it seems like quite a handy way to do it though... and i think there are quite a lot of minerals and vitamins in the cereal... and if you eat a balanced meal in the evening you *should* be ok if you're only doing the diet for a couple of weeks... but maybe you could take a multi-vit just incase?

good luck!

Thanks! I think I may try it for a few weeks to get started.

Its not a smart diet at all, just another gimmick. Like Urgle mentioned, you may lose weight because of a lower caloric intake, not from eating Special K.

Cereal is not as healthy and you may think.

Doing it for a couple of weeks isn't going to kill you, and if it helps you get an initial loss to motivate you, more power to you.

Of course it's not a good idea in the long term, but it sounds like you already know that. I would just focus your other meal on getting what you're missing from the cereal--i.e. lots of protein and some healthy fats.

I think the biggest problem is just going to be avoiding hunger. I'm not sure how 500 calories from 2 bowls of cereal and milk is really going to sustain you throughout the day. If you only eat about 500 cals from 8:00am until dinner at 6:00pmish, you could really be setting yourself up for late afternoon/evening bingeing. Just something to keep in mind.

Good luck with whatever you decide!!! :goodvibes

maybe try having the "real" meal for lunch?? then cereal for brekkie and dinner... just to get you started on weight loss?!?!

I was kinda thinking that too. Especially since I didn't want to eat cereal at work :rotfl2: I am still debating. It sounds like a good idea, but I don't know if it will be "enough". Will I be full from one bowl of cereal for dinner or will I end up snacking :confused3
