Special Family Experience

We have our next trip planned for Sept/Oct 2015 and have been saving coins as a family since our last trip to WDW in hopes of using it towards a special family experience for this trip. It looks like we should have around $500-$600 saved if we can continue in our current pace. So we are looking for suggestions. The kids will be 9 & 12 on the next trip and I think that rules out our first choice, Keys to the Kingdom tour. And I we were hoping for something other than just a dining experience. Suggestions?

I know you said you weren't looking for a dining experience, but have you considered the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party? I think it's worth doing at least once, and I think your kids would enjoy it.

If your family is the outdoor type, you should consider the fishing excursion. We (me, DW, DD7, DD10) did that this past May and had a blast! Caught 20+ large fish, some greater than 5 pounds. The guide was awesome. The good thing about the fishing excursion is that it is one price for the boat. You can take as many as 5 for the same price.

If fishing is not your thing, I'll give you one from my bucket list, a fireworks cruise.

Not sure if it would fall within your budget, but what about a ride along at Richard petty's? The kids can even go in a "cars" themed one.

Or, agree with pp, a fireworks cruise!
