Hi There

I have a special request ... although I have been to Disney several times ... I'm looking for great ideas and some help. My brother and his family (from South Africa) are joining us on this vacation. Whats so special you ask? Well, they have never been on a vacation before, except for maybe a weekend trip and even thats rare. They did not even have a honeymoon ... he works very hard and finally they are able to make all their dreams come true. Plus, I have not seen them in four years. Although, its not really their anniversary while at Disney ... I want to do something really nice for his family ... 2 kids ... 9 and 12. They dont like fancy restaurants. I want to special order a cake ... something that they will remember forever. Any suggestions? :wizard:

I am in the process of making all our ADRs ... have made some, still deciding on others. We will be in Disney end of November. I would appreciate any help.

:goodvibes Thank You Very Much :goodvibes

:confused3 anyone? I was thinking about Whispering Canyon ... but can you get a cake delivered there? and from where? Please help ... thank you. :wizard:

You can get a cake at any Disney table service. You just need to call the restaurant ahead of time and tell them what you want. They'll give you a choice of flavors and fillings. I'm getting my dad one for his birthday at Tony's. You can also special order cakes at the bakeries on the Boardwalk and at the Grand Floridian. WDW-DINE can give you all the phone numbers when you make your ADR. I've never been to the WCC, but I hear good things. If you want something a little more exotic I think Ohana's at the Poly also does goofy stuff for kids, and you can't go wrong with a character meal - Garden Grill in EPCOT is served family style, not buffet.

Good luck and have a great time!

You have already received great advice on the cakes. I just wanted to add that to help you in choosing the right places to eat, www.allearsnet.com has great information on all the dining options including menus for all WDW restaurants. I'm sure after reviewing these, and going through this board for reviews you'll make the perfect choices!

What about doing an IllumiNations or Wishes cruise and having cake on board? DH did this for my birthday one year and it was quite memorable:)

My 2 cents - if you look on the restaurant board, there are pics of a really neat mickey shaped cake. I decided to order this for our upcoming trip to the BCV and have it ready in our room when we return from Epcot (for our anniversary). It took me a number of phone calls, but I ended up with the Bakery at the Beach and Yacht club (didn't even know they had one). Spoke with dining / room service and gave them my credit card info. Just a thought. It's about $45 plus tax, etc.

Since its my mom's birthday one day we're there, and dd another day, I'm doing 2 cakes - one for Ohana, as my mom loves that place (and is even more excited about the changes!! lol) DD we're scheduled for LTT a character meal, so I'll get her a cake there, and then our last night I scheduled us at 1900 Park Fare and will pre order the Cindy slippers for them!!

I too hope to make this a memorable trip!!
