special diet at Hoop Dee Doo

My family is making their very first Disney trip in June!!! Woohoo! We can't wait. We have PS for Hoop Dee Doo.
My son & I are vegetarians, I know HDD serves fried chicken & ribs. My son is 3 yrs old & he will be happy just having Mac & Cheese! LOL
Do I call ahead to arrange for vegetarian dishes for us? I did tell the ressie that I will need two vegetarian plates, & she said OK, but should ask to speak with a chef at HDD personally, as the date comes closer???

I would if it were me. It can't hurt, and it might help. So why not? Chefs at WDW are generally very accommodating; you might be very pleasantly surprised by what they're able to whip up for you with a couple days' notice.

YES!!! Call ahead (about 3 days in advance) and speak directly to the chef about your needs. That is one of the most accomodating of all WDW restaurants for special needs!!!

Hi -

We've got reservations for HDD in May and 3 out of the 5 of us have to order special meals (DS5 only eats PB sandwiches, grilled cheese and the occasional pizza), DH has acid reflux and avoids fried and greasy foods and I avoid fried/greasy foods so as not to have a gall bladder attack. We're hoping to get BBQ chicken

Anyway, the agent told me to call about a week ahead of time and just let them know what we need. She also gave me this number to call: 407-824-2803
