So each family member has to buy for another family member and the amount is $50 but you can spend more. Is it terrible if you bought gifts on great sale days and got a higher priced gift but at a less than $50 price?

I don't think so. They don't have to know you got it on sale :thumbsup2

I dont see anything wrong with that. You just happend to find a great deal on the item.

What if they need to return it for some reason?

Yes.

The bold says you are to spend $50 not buy a gift for a regular price of $50. Getting a gift at a great price allows you to get them something else.

Nope. I do that all the time, but to me that just means I buy more to reach that $50 limit and the recepient gets lots of great stuff. :)
