Spain coming to Epcot; Monsters Inc. Coaster coming to Hollywood Studios

maybe they should have gone with a twenty thousand leagues under the sea theme rather then a Nemo theme. I think they went with nemo theme beacause it was more KID friendly theme because more kids know crush than Pierre Aronnax.:)

Maybe they should have gone to the future of deep sea exploration or something that actually belongs in FW.

I think that's a good idea, but it would have to be Disney related or it would feel out of place.

 Ironically they already had it and it WAS totally Disney related, it just depends on what your definition of "Disney" related is. The entire EPCOT Center as it was for the first 15 years or so was trying to make Walt's dream a reality (even though it was in theme park form instead of a city).

Uh...No. Other than perhaps a reflection of the principles of Walt's dream in Epcot Center, as ChrisFL noted, a "Disney related" (generally defined as a character or franchise tie-in) attraction in Future World is actually the misplaced oddity, not the other way around.

The original Future World concepts of energy, communications, imagination, agriculture, transportation, future living, and the seas are the foundation of Future World - not a cartoon fish that belongs in Fantasyland or maybe over at the Studios.

Then maybe they should do a more futuristic theme, maybe add more futuristic fish viewing areas

I'm thinking that the Rain in Epcot Spain will fall mainly on an empty plain---

I know it's not a country but Hawaii could be really cool. They could have a lilo and stitch meet and greet, and possibly a ride like the one in Norway.

Sharks with LASERS!!!

Wonderful idea! :thumbsup2

But on serious note, I think I may be alone on this one (please don't shoot me!), but I kinda like the idea of not having alot of Disney characters in EPCOT. To me EPCOT has always been about learning about different cultures, ideas and technology, not about characters and meet and greets. I agree with some DISers, that Pixar kinda fits in DHS, not anywhere near EPCOT :confused3

Oooh, yeah!, "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" - it would be cool!!!

I actually completely agree with you. I don't like how it seems that everytime something gets refurbished, its reopened with a meet and greet or a disney movie theme. Example, I really like what they've done to Spaceship Earth, they kept the ride's essence and updated its tech to keep up with the future feel, however the living seas, while I do like nemo, has turned into a playground essentially. I know Disney is a family/kids place but to me Epcot has always been a more mature park with some things for kids, rather than a kids park with some things for adults. That being said, I still love the things for little kids like the KidCot Centers, even if I'm a bit too old for them... :goodvibes

Original ideas don't create SYNERGY between Disney products...that's what is taught, it has to have synergy, even in the CM "Traditions" training, they have a section devoted to it.

And that has been the way since Disneyland.....

Sleeping Beauty's castle was built to promote the movie...

As was just about every other attraction on opening day, it either promoted a Disney movie or television show....
