Space Shuttle Launch

I've just been on the Kennedy Space Centre website and it says that the next Space Shuttle launch is between May 12th and 3rd June

If it did launch on May 12th, we will be on the Disney Wonder at Port Canaveral, wow, that would be such a cool place to see it go up. We did see a shuttle launch in December 2001 and we watched it from Cocoa Beach, it was a brilliant experience to see, even though we were quite a long way from the launch site

I watched a launch back in May 2000, 170 miles away in West Palm Beach! It was 6.30 in the morning and everyone in the whole street had gathered to see it. One guy was indoors following the countdown on tv and he was relaying the details via a walkie-talkie to a friend who was outside with us. When the guy inside shouted 'She's up!' the other guy turned to me and said that because we were so far away we would have to wait a minute or so before we would see it, but sure enough it appeared just above the trees at the end of the street and we were able to see it for about another three minutes before it disappeared. Everyone was whoopin' and cheerin' and it was a fantastic experience to be part of. If nothing else it showed me just how much pride Americans have in their achievements in space-flight! A memorable day indeed.
