Are there any pics online of other coasters that have the same layout as Space Mountain. My DH wants me to ride with him,but I am a big chicken when it comes to drops (except for water log rides. Now how dumb is that ?)
I am hoping that seeing what it looks like will ease some of my fears.
Any help is appreciated:scared:

I know of no photos, but as far a coasters go, SM is pretty mild. There's only one short "lift off your seat" drop about 2/3 the way through the ride. The rest is pretty much bobbing and weaving with short dips.

Hi,
I know what you mean--I'm a major chicken w/ RC's, but I love SM! I ride evertime we're in WDW or DL.
I recommend NOT riding in the front, but sit near the back. The ride is in the dark, but when you're in the last seats you can sort of see where the ride is going. I tried the front once...never again! I think the unexpected makes it scary.
There are no major drops, but then again, my dad loves RC's and said SM was SCARY.
Maybe this is a bad comparison, because there's no way to tell the layout of SM, but go see the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride, and I think they're similar. It definitely desn't have the Splash Mountain drop, yuck!
Hope this helps!

I am sorry I dont have any pictures. But if you go on the Transit authority while its being refurbished, you go through space mountain and you can see everything lit up.

If it wasn't in the dark with the special effects, it wouldn't look like much of a coaster. I will go along with the previous poster and describe it as "mild."

It's not that wild -- it's just that it's in the dark so you can't see what's coming. I agree with another poster and I prefer the last seat: you can orient on the car in front so you can sorta see where you're going and what's coming next. Take from this almost 50 Mom who isn't a coaster buff! It's a fun little ride.

Try Rock-N-RC at MGM! Wow, way cool -- no big drops, and you don't even know when you invert (well, almost). I love it!

Thanks for the reassurance. It sounds like something I can handle, but will definately take your advice about the back seats

Casey Jr----RNR is the #1 ride on my priority lists :teeth:

I know this isn't much help,but...Once while on the TTA a friend and I were lucky enough to go through when the lights were on. The roller coaster had stoped for mechanical reasons temporarily It was neat to see the two roller coasters and how they intertwined. I tryed to get a picture but coudn't get my camera on in time. We stayed on the TTA but they had fixed the problem and the lights were back off. Every time I go on the TTA now, I am camera ready while passing through, in hopes it will happen again.

P.S. It's not that bad...the "big" hill is not that big and its mostly just twists and turns you essentially just spiral down to your start point. Even my Grandparents go on!

At one point someone had posted pictures of SM with the lights on in the building.

I don't remember who it was though, sorry. You might be able to find the post if you do a search or better yet the person who posted the pictures may read this and repost them. :)

Just got back and went on Space Mountain for the first time in 20yrs!!!! My DD 9 and husband went on and then convinced my DS 11 and myself to go on. Was well worth the amount of screaming I did since it is so much fun!!! Do it and you won't regret it! Oh and my son who was so scared, went on 4 times after that!::yes::
