The Disneyland map says the refurb begins May 27, but every other list I look at says it starts May 12 (our first day in the parks). Surprised so much conflicting information so close to May 12. Anyone know which is right?

Since your dates are available on the DLR Calendar...that is the best place to get the information you desire. According to the Calendar...the SM refurb does not start until May 27th.
It was pushed back a few weeks for some reason.

This is what I figured. It surprises me though that the WDWINFO site and all other sites are so slow to revise their lists.

The refurb schedule has been changing very frequently and Tom aka ImTooExcitedtoSleep keeps it up. But he does not do it daily but more like weekly. If he did it every time there was a change he would spend all his time just on that.

No fan site can get official information before Disney publishes it.

As to why anyone would trust second-hand information over what is "straight from the horse's mouth", :confused3

FYI, there are two separate places to get closure dates on disneyland.com.

If you are concerned about several days in the next few weeks, clicking on individual dates on the calendar at http://disneyland.disney.go.com/calendar is the simpler method.

For the complete duration of closures, and for further into the future, go to http://disneyland.disney.go.com/attractions/map/#/disneyland,disney-california-adventure/ Choose a date of interest. Gray balloons mark those attractions that will not be operating on that particular day. Click any blue or gray balloon, and if information on a present or future closure is available, the start and end dates will be displayed:

But not quite enough for us... we arrive 5/30. :sad2:
Good thing there are plenty of other things to do at the parks. :dance3:

old news now, but we just returned on 7/2 from DLCA and they ended up opening Space Mountain on 6/30. it was our friends first time at DLCA and it was the icing on the cake for their trip. We had been telling them how SM at DL is so much better than at MK. After their first ride on it, not only did they agree, it was their overall favorite ride.

I love when that happens! (Though I like MK's SM too.) How does the ride look now? Are all the lights finally working in the blue energy tunnel before the main lift hill? (And in the loading station?)
