Space Mountain: Clothing Optional - All done and true even if it is April Fool's

I just came across your trip report and I am dying laughing. Your writing style cracks me up. And that Space Mt. photo is EPIC. Seriously legendary. My sister and I are always trying to think up unique ride photos, but we usually fail. The funniest ones always come from Dinosaur because we are legitimately scared to death and I'm typically curled up in a ball, hiding my head from the big, scary dino.
That is soooo me!
It's nice to know that there are other kids out there who feel the same way. :thumbsup2
Nice to hear you are like that too!
Great trip report and yes that was funny!

Thanks! updates coming tonight!!!!!:thumbsup2

I am so sorry but my Dad is not doing well in his new place and I just have not had the time to get the next chapter started. Hours on the phone with docs and social workers. :sad1:

I will try tonight...tom should be an easy day to accomplish at least one chapter!! :worship:

Take of yer dad. we can wait.

Dawn!!!! :rotfl: This report is amazing and TREYNER AND BAYLOR ARE MY HEROES!!!! Legends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait for more!!! Thanks for the awesome report!!:wizard:

Take care of your Dad we can definitely wait. You know how I feel about this. Take all the time you need and then some. :grouphug:

Chapter Seven: "Good Night John Boy"

After the Space Mountain Playgirl photo shoot, pirate: the rest of us rode who had not been asked if we wanted to be in a centerfold. The best part is that Dan, looking like a short armed dinosaur in this picture, might as well have been with the boys!

P1030488.jpg

When I saw the picture, I asked him what the Rhinestone Cowboy was he doing?

He said, "I don't know! I just had my arms at my side! I was trying to raise them up but they were too long and hit the ceiling so I pulled them down!" :rotfl:

It totally looked like he was playing, "poke the pidipple" and then I saw I was stuffed like a sausage in my seat as well although my hands were not inappropriate! The only thing that saved me is the fact I am not 6'6. Heck, I am not even 5'6!!

Note to self #137.4:

If you look like you are covering yourself like Pamela Anderson trying out for something not PG, like Dancing With the Stars, in a ride cause you are a wee jammed in, ya might want to hit the gym.

Or the next WW meeting. :snooty:

Quite possibly both.

Just not Krispy Kreme. :rolleyes1

D@mn you Satan's, glazed temptation of doom!!!!!!

K - where was I??? :sad2:

Oh yeah, Space Mountain.

Here is some of our party who are not on the FBI's most wanted list.

Nobody was cuffed and stuffed from either party and after the lot of us went, 6 went on Buzz Lightyear.

Treyner wanted a rematch. He could not stand to think he would lose to Dan. :cool2:

P1030492.jpg

P1030491.jpg

I wanted to contemplate how one doughnut popcorn:: could do so much damage when I was sure I had a size 6 body before we left. :cool2: :rolleyes1

Then, the rest of WIGD's gang headed to meet Anita and Marc for a chance to experience the cruise. Treyner and Baylor headed back to the hotel to eat and Dan,Carsyn and I browsed the shops a bit.

Soon, we were about done as well. Just took a moment to check out the lost and found to see if Carsyn had her phone found.

No such luck. Some awesome pics though of Main Street were enjoyed.

The boys had gotten to the resort, changed into their suits and were busy playing the arcade basketball game by the time we arrived. They were oblivious to us and we got some great candid photos before we ordered dinner that night.

Dinner that night was Pizza. Good and better than Dan and I experienced in March when we had ordered it. I think room service is never as good as fresh.

The kids swam a bit again and we went to sleep before our last full day at Epcot!!!!

I wish I knew how wrong I was about how the next day would turn out.

Not a full day at the park but rather one full of DRAMA!!

Next UP: Will we ever get to EPCOT??? :teacher: :confused3

Wow, I just LOVE that Christmas castle! :lovestruc I hope I can see it one day, but I hope I can see it without those crowds :scared1:

Well, at least this trip you got a day at Epcot no matter what happened last trip. Was it a make up day?

I hope things are better with your dad!

:lmao: I think i'm still laughing about the previous chapter. But I enjoyed this one too. I love the way you write. Excited for more... popcorn::

/
My friends from Ireland loved this!!! :goodvibes
LOVED the tour - it is my favorite one. I was a little dissapointed that we only went on 1 ride - Haunted Mansion. He seemed a little out of sorts from the beginning.
We have never taken this tour or any other - need to do that next time!!!
And Mathew almost started crying when he talked about why he loved working for Disney.
I was also a little disappointed we only went on HM. You can really tell he loves working for Disney. That or he is a good actor, he almost cried talking about it to us, too.
You guys did not see the Pixie Dust WDW provides to sprinkle in your eye sockets to ensure the tears come on? :rotfl2: It's true. I read it in a CM handbook I pilfered. :lmao:
We were talking about people and what they must be thinking about a group of people who all of a sudden look one way and laugh at nothing obvious haha.
That is my normal. What do you guys usually do for fun? :confused3
I may have a TR of one of my times taking the tour around here somewhere....
I pictured you rifling through your drawers. Socks and t-shirts being thrown about as the lost TR is located!!! :dance3:
Welcome back!
Thanks!! :yay:
Take of yer dad. we can wait.
I appreciate that a ton.
Dawn!!!! :rotfl: This report is amazing and TREYNER AND BAYLOR ARE MY HEROES!!!! Legends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You might want to aim higher on the Hero-meter! :lmao:
I can't wait for more!!! Thanks for the awesome report!!:wizard:
I will get another chapter done this morning! :surfweb:
Wow, I just LOVE that Christmas castle! :lovestruc I hope I can see it one day, but I hope I can see it without those crowds :scared1:
The crowds were just really bad that day. The other days were fine. This year anyway. :worship:
Well, at least this trip you got a day at Epcot no matter what happened last trip. Was it a make up day?
Ya know I can't tell ahead of time!!! :woohoo:
I hope things are better with your dad!
Getting there! Amputations are a long recovery and an emotional onslaught. He is finally even keeled after adjusting some meds.
:lmao: I think i'm still laughing about the previous chapter. But I enjoyed this one too. I love the way you write. Excited for more... popcorn::
This last chapter was just a finisher. I don't like to write short chapters if I can help it but lately I was lucky to get that done! :worship: So glad you are here!

I plan on starting a new chapter this morning. Baylor and I are speaking at a Fire Fighter Fundraiser for Burn Camp's today. The whole thing is from 12 - 5 p.m. so gone most of the day and will see my Dad beforehand.

They asked Baylor to talk for 20 minutes about his experience at Colorado in August and December! :scared1:

I told them he is a 14 year old average boy. He does not talk for 20 minutes in 24 hours. :sad2:

I offered them the chance for him to text for 20 minutes though! :lmao:

It should be interesting!!!:worship:

Great update!

Every time I see the title of your TR I start laughing again. I think your boys have ruined Space Mt for me. My family is going to think I'm insane when I break into hysterical laughter any time the ride is mentioned. :lmao:

Chapter Eight: "What the Sam Hill is Going on Now?"

We awoke to thoughts of a great day. Even a spectacular one.

That all changed when at 8 a.m. and some change, a text came in.

Note to self #1879

Never read a text from someone you do not get along with on a good day, when you are on vacation.

End of Note.

I will shorten what ended up sucking the life out of us for hours by only highlighting the details.

The text explained that an important e-mail had been sent the day before that was imperative to read. The sender refused to discuss what the e-mail was about, even when the fact we did not have internet access handy was explained. (We had called down to the lobby to order internet access and it was down.)

That should have been a clue that reading it was a waste of time.

We were not that smart.

We thought we could fix something.

I should have been born a middle child.

Dan's laptop was in the van anyway so we decided to drive the strip by DTD before we met up for an early lunch to try and get internet access at a restaurant or hotel. It turned out some major line was down which was causing CBR's issue. Every place we tried that said they had free WI-FI was down.

Literally went to Buffalo Wild Wings by Goodings, who was just opening and ordered a coke so we could be legit customers and the manager was on a ladder for 20 minutes trying to solve the issue. :headache:

Finally, while Dan drove, I got a weak signal outside of a Best Western, we pulled into their parking lot and read the e-mail.

It involved family and Christmas and thus, we tried to work something out but there are just times when you need to know that you are not in control and if the other party does not want to work things out, you are simply talking to yourself.

We decided to TRY and put the drama in the back of our minds and enjoy the day. We had wasted over 2 hours on the e-mail by that point and it needed to end.

I vowed to work on a few things at that moment.

#1 Never make plans or plans with people, that your gut tells you will not work out.

#2 Unless there is a death, issues can wait till you get home when on vacation. They were there before you left. They will be there after. :teacher:

Poor Baylor had gone early with us to Cast Connections thinking it would be a fun morning and he got stuck in the vortex of family drama too. He was a good trooper though and more patient than I would have been at his age.

So we finally made it to DTD at about Noon and met up with Carsyn and Treyner who had already ordered lunch.

We were famished!!!

P1030507.jpg

Garlic Mashed Potatoes!!!

P1030511.jpg

COOOKIE!

P1030510.jpg

Spaghetti and Meatballs!

P1030509.jpg

My Favorite Creme Brulee on property!

P1030508.jpg

Dan's pizza!

P1030506.jpg

Caesar salad and bread!

We had 2 things needing to get done before we went to Epcot.

#1 Cast Connections
#2 Stop at Lost and Found by the TTC and Dog Kennels and find out if Carsyn's phone was located!

Treyner, after eating decided he was chilly and also wanted his sunglasses. So he headed back via bus to CBR and the rest of us shopped a bit, then went to Cast Connections.

We had a slight idea where to find it, and reading WIDD's report where she tried to get in but it was closed, had given me a visual of what I was looking for. I am really surprised backstage areas of MK and maintenance are so easy to get to for anyone. There are no badges needed or special arm bars to get you towards the Disney Institute. Just a car and voila you are in.

P1030514.jpg

Found some good deals at Cast Connections. Did not know what to expect but was pleased and found the fact you could buy new merchandise and hotel extras or old things they no longer use, quite interesting. They also are now selling food due to the fact that some CM's have spouses who have lost their jobs and need to buy at a discount. :thumbsup2

We bought a few things and got ready to leave. Carsyn had called Lost and Found when we left DTD and described her ghetto phone. It seemed they thought they had located it! Scratches and a few new gashes, (I mean it did get tossed out of BTR) but still it was there!

We parked and waited for her to come out with phone in hand. Like I said, it shares a facility with the kennels and you would be amazed at the number of cars there with frustrated people.

The kennels were full and people had driven long distances with no reservations or guarantee they would have a place for their dog and now were in WDW with Marmaduke in tow.

I mean how would that small tidbit slip your mind? I also know Disney has strict policies of no animals in cars or the fuzz will be called and your animal will be waiting in lock up and a huge ticket in your name when you exit the parks.

Yes it is December and chilly but a dog cannot be kept with no bathroom for hours and they are not going to have one policy when it is 100 degrees out and one when it is 50.

So there were some not so happy campers.

They also looked like they would not be able to have the smarts to put up a tent if they could have camped.

Carsyn came out with phone in hand, looking like she just won the lotto. It was hers and it worked still so glory be and a hallelujah thrown in too!!!

In the midst of this, we had gotten a call from Treyner.

Seems Mr. 19 and can handle things, managed to get on the wrong bus leaving DTD and was now heading back to CBR from Animal Kingdom.

So we went into Epcot and said we would wait for him because I had his ticket. I assumed he would be there shortly. I as usual assumed wrong. We should have just gone and piked him up.

This was where the fun began.

We waited.

And we waited.

And we people watched.

And we made fun of people watching people.

And waited some more.

Turns out there was an accident and all buses were stopped for 1/2 an hour picking anyone up so he was stuck at CBR bus stop still. :scared1:

In fact I spoke with WIGD who was stuck at DTD, waiting for Marc who had went back to Kidani to get Keeley's ticket and he was also in the no bus zone. We were all wanting to be at Epcot and for the same reason, (no buses) just not able to get there!

So our ETA for Epcot was moved from 1 p.m. that morning, (Pre text and pre bus issues) to not walking past the great Golf Ball in the Sky till after 4 p.m. My master plan for Epcot was stewed and we all knew it. You cannot get that whole park done in 5 hours. Not even the highlights.

There were some pictures captured as we waited for Treyner and after he arrived. I found out I have no clue how people take those photos that make it look like they are holding the Epcot ball.

In fact I downright suck at them!

Up next: The rest of Epcot!!

Mmmm, all that food from WPE looks absolutely DELISH! Have you ever tried the BBQ Quesadilla? YUM!

Poor Treynor getting on the wrong bus and then having to be STUCK for a 1/2 hour! :(

Glad yall all made it together at Epcot finally! WOO HOO! :woohoo:

Love the update! I believe the bus system knows when people are expected to be somewhere, and have people waiting. It slows down just to mess with you!

I would not be the BBQ fan when it comes to pizza or things. I like my food being more in the department of tasting like the original.

Like if I want BBQ - I want ribs or wings. I do not like mixing and matching too much the flavor's.

Dan can eat a sweet, than a salty or something totally different.

Like if I have salad and he has an ice cream - he offers me a taste and I am freaked out at the thought of something sweet mixed with ranch dressing.

I love all types of foods and do not finish one thing on my plate at a time - my mom will not start a new food until the last one is done and do not think about letting her foods touch... me - just want it to taste how I envision it I guess.

Like pizza flavored jelly beans - yuck!!!!

Lately we have had our vehicle so not too much bus exposure. It was not the end of the world but compiled with the earlier debacle...it was aggravating. Knowing WIGD was not having a peachy day made me feel better. :lmao:

Well, it's about time you post an update Missy! :rotfl: Just kidding. Great update. Lots of fun and drama as usual. Sorry you wasted your time opening that email. That sounds more frustrating than anything else. Then to have to wait for the bus to arrive because of an accident. Oh....the best laid plans. Sound strikingly familiar to the last day I had in Epcot last June. First Nick leaves his park ticket with me, Brian heads off to the water park without Nick, and Nicks cell in locked in the room safe and Brian has the key. There I sit, waiting, waiting, waiting as each bus unloads at Epcot until, finally...Nick arrives. 14 and all alone on the Disney buses with NO CELL PHONE! uggghhhh! OK - I digress!

Hi Dawn, I wrote to you an your PTR while you were away. (post 100, page 7) I love love love reading your TRs. Your family sounds like so much fun. I liked you the first sentence I read on this report. As I wrote in the PTR, you and I are very similar.
I have three children 15, 17, and 19. My oldest is in college and my 17 year old daughter is a senior in high school. We too bought a used van for our road trip this June, and I have a wonderful boyfriend now after being married for 12 years.
I have laughed so much reading your stories and for that I thank you. You could write in magazines or maybe write for sitcoms! I could not wait until you came home to hear more-I know, selfish!
You sound like a fabulous, fun, loving mother and I wish you and your family the best of luck in everything. I will be posting often now that I found you-that sounded kind of creeper like, Ha, I did not mean it in that way!

Oh, there's always something INTERESTING in your updates!! LOL

I got the moving her lips like yeah reference. I have girls! Totally don't get some of those lyrics.

Glad you all finally got together - your WPE food looks awesome and yummy!! We love that place too. I might have to try the creme brulee next time - it's one of my favorite desserts!

Totally thought the lyrics were moving your hips like yeah! :lmao: I feel a little better about a 17 yr old singing moving your LIPS like yeah...

Sorry for the drama email!! Gotta love family!
