Space Mountain: Clothing Optional - All done and true even if it is April Fool's

[QUOTEHow the heck did I get to be Naked Dawn? I am laughing and completely confused and not always in that order!

Clothing optional, Naked Dawn.... I just used my imagination and decided it fit. Plus, I was hoping it would prompt another picture from Shocker.....sooner or later! :rotfl:

ps. for the state mottos - I like Rhode Island and New Jersey the best!

Nice couches - I think the second one is really pretty.
Me too!

Here is the official Kansas slogan.....

And here is the Kansas reality slogan!

Nice - it sounds like how Treyner described Colorado as well - at least Durango.
I really like your second sofa! Very pretty! I have a leather sectional that I love upstairs in our big room.

I like that one better as well - the first one is not my style at all but the most comfortable - need to keep looking.
It has the rolled arms and nail heads like you see on many leather sofas. It's very comfortable and seats lots of people. Marc has his own recliner with an ottoman. I'm not a fan of the typical recliner...:sad2:
In the rec room down stairs we have a really big club chair with an ottoman that we both fit it!:eek: and a pub sofa...

We looked at some of those - right now you would need a can opener to remove one of us - huge hint to loose weight! :lmao:
Baylor and his friends tend to inhabit that area and we have never had a fire in that fireplace.:rolleyes1

Our fireplace needs some work done - I love fires with real wood!
We go down there when the tornado sirens sound and the tornado is within a few blocks of our house.....
EEEEk enough about me!
When are you guys going to Disney again?
Not sure - maybe Dan and I will do a trip solo next time.
Clothing optional, Naked Dawn.... I just used my imagination and decided it fit. Plus, I was hoping it would prompt another picture from Shocker.....sooner or later! :rotfl:
Heck no! Did you hear I was neked there? If it was me you would have had a state of emergence declared! :rotfl2:
ps. for the state mottos - I like Rhode Island and New Jersey the best!

I agree 185%

Love both the couches!! Currently sitting on a chocolate brown leather sofa with the nail head, rolled arms and wood round feet. Love the way it looked when we first got it! Now... not so much. The leather has torn from the top of the cushions, where the back cushions are attached to the back of the couch. DON'T get those kinds of cushions. THEY RIP! It's an Ashley... don't buy Ashley! I'm sure it might be fine for tiny people. However, tiny people, my family, are not. And we're hard on furniture. So need a new couch but with the boys still young, not ready to make an investment and then have it be destroyed again or make an INVETMENT for a couch that won't get destroyed and bankrupt us. I'd rather spend the money on.... .... ....... Trips to Disney!!

My hubby is 6'5 and I'm 5'4 so I TOTALLY get what you are saying about furniture fitting you and Dan differently. And we don't want to do separate chairs yet.... we're saving that for our 40th wedding anniversary present along with the separate twin remote control twin beds! :rolleyes:

My solution to our height difference is making Hubby sit on the floor.....

:rolleyes1

Ok, not really. I just curl my legs up underneath me and sit criss cross applesauce most of the time when I'm on the couch. It's not like my feet are gonna hit the floor anyway.

Good luck furniture shopping!! Let us know what you end up with... I'll have to take notes for our future furniture endeavors!

Where in MN to you come and when will you be here again?

I've got family spread out all over the state, but when I come up I usually spend the bulk of my time in my mom's home town. It's a tiny little speck in the SW part of the state. The largest town close to it is Marshall. Where are you??

Not sure when I'll be up again, I don't go as often now that my grandparents have passed away. We may go this summer as we are not planning on a big family vacation this year and I haven't been up for awhile - it's time, I just dread that 12 hour drive!

Dawn,

I know you don't like lurkers so I thought I'd come out and say Hi! I have been reading this report since you started it and have gone back and read both PTRs and I'm almost done with your other TR. You have had me laughing and in tears. My DH and I think you are hilarious - I read him some of your stories (Treyner throwing you under the bus to his teacher, Carsyn and the windshield wipers) and we were both rolling laughing.

Thank you for the laughs as well as the information in your TRs. My DH has never been to Disney and I haven't been in 11 years (last time was a so our trip this year will be an experience for both of us.

Hi Dawn!

Just saying howdy! I am late to the party (story of my life) but I was so excited to find your new trippie! You and your kids always crack me up! I laughed so hard with the table-legs-and-OBGYNs-story I nearly spit coffee all over my computer. :surfweb: Can't wait to read more!

Very nice couches... we have a sectional very similar to that one, only microfiber not leather, and we love it.

what is the best thing to come out of Minnesota? I-35 going south!!

Go Hawk-eyes!!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

Low and Holy, you are back and I just found this TR now? I was even watching for it, how could I have missed it? I can't wait to get caught up, so far I have gotten through the intro and I know I will love it. I love your kids antics.
If I didn't have to get up for work tomorrow I would pull an all nighter and just get caught up now, but I want my beauty sleep, I need my beauty sleep, I am so selfish that way.
Anywhoo glad you had a good trip and I will be chatting with you like crazy now.
Ty

I never knew about the great Iowa/Minnesota rivalry....what do the Iowans say about Minnesota?
I have a few theories of my own based on my inlaws that live there.;)

I am not sure if you are pure evil or pure genious! I have to find where you come up with these things - all I can say is I find some stuff on google and all the pics turn up tiny tiny...need better outlets to steal from!

The leather has torn from the top of the cushions, where the back cushions are attached to the back of the couch. DON'T get those kinds of cushions. Ohhh...so make sure that the cushions are seperate from the backs...K got it...I assume the issue here is the recliners esp...THEY RIP! It's an Ashley... don't buy Ashley! The second counch is an Ashley...

See I knew you were smart!:lmao:

I am with ya sistah!

I am in the cities but would take a drive to meet you. Have you been to the north Shore before with the kids? They would loooove it!

Driving isn't so bad...I have mastered it this summer!
Dawn,

I know you don't like lurkers so I thought I'd come out and say Hi! Oh sweetie - I don't NOT like lurkers - they just scare me! :goodvibes I have been reading this report since you started it and have gone back and read both PTRs and I'm almost done with your other TR. You have had me laughing and in tears. My DH and I think you are hilarious - I read him some of your stories (Treyner throwing you under the bus to his teacher, Carsyn and the windshield wipers) and we were both rolling laughing.

I can't believe you have been a member for over a year and I am your first post. :worship: Thank you so much for that compliment and please let me know all about your trip! It will be awesome for you both!

Just wait...Treyner is joining the group up next for the rest of the trip and it just gets crazier!
what is the best thing to come out of Minnesota? I-35 going south!!

Go Hawk-eyes!!!!:woohoo::woohoo:
Cr@p. I di dnot know they let IOWANS on the Dis! ;)

Glad you are here though. Like I said, Treyner was actually born in Sewer City, IA so I don't hate every memory of the state! :lmao:

Actually, his labor was almost 40 hours and then they took him C-section...so I don;t like the delivery memory much either! :rotfl2:

Wow, I grew up in Oakdale and live in Woodbury now. Howdy neighbor!
Looove Up and am laughing at all the Minnesota connections here...It's like 7 degrees from Kevin Bacon or something!

Hi sweetie. I lost your # and am glad you found me. I did not know youstarted your TR either so will get caught up there tom as well! Hoping I find a blissfull time was had by all with some of your best hilarity thrown in!

Hope the kids are doing great!

I never knew about the great Iowa/Minnesota rivalry....what do the Iowans say about Minnesota?
I have a few theories of my own based on my inlaws that live there.;)

Well in-laws are a whole different breed then us normal folks!

Unless they are stupendously behaved people. Not stupid. Stupendous!:rolleyes1

Maybe Ashley has a higher quality line than what we bought... because we've only had it 4 years and it looks awful. It's sagging in the middle - like the frame, ripped leather everywhere, not just at the corners where the cushions attach. The interior lining has come out from the frame, etc. I keep losing stuff down in the bottom of the couch.

But we are hard on couches!! Two boys, two dogs, and not so tiny adults!

So who knows! Maybe it's us! :rolleyes:

Hello, fellow Minnesotans! I'm intrigued by this Space Mountain thing! I lurked (and laughed :rotfl2:) on your last TR awhile back, so looking forward to this!

And totally know the Iowa rivalry. The one I always remember is what it stands for:
I=idiots
O=out
W=wandering
A=around
Of course, I don't believe that :littleangel:, but I hear it in my head every time I see the sign at the border. Oddly enough, we just stopped at the barn rest area on our way through on Friday and probably will today on our drive back home (went to visit my grandpa in KS). I agree that Iowa has great rest stops, especially because of the free wi-fi (which is actually how we've been updating our PTR the last couple days!)

Looking forward to more updates!

I have a grandpa in KS too! :yay:

Texas isn't all flat!!! I promise!!!

And I'm talking about the landscape people! Don't go there.

Really though, Austin.... where I am, is pleasantly hilly. West Texas is awful... but the Hill Country area is really pretty. Honest! :rolleyes:

She's tellin the God's honest truth, y'all. ;)

I missed so much over the weekend. Dawn your update had me laughing and crying at the same time... I would use a laughing smiley, but it seems some of you all think of something else. Naughty ladies that you all are. :lmao: I suppose you could think of something for this one too?

Wish I had more to add to this funny thread. I'll be back later for more of my daily laughs. (I'm laughing with you not at you... ;) )

Ashley said they have different quality lines based on price point - I suppose no different than anything. Right now we have a set in the basement that was bought in 2003. I LOVE it but it used to be upstairs and the yellow fabric was in the sun and faded so bad. It looks terrible. Some of the cushions have seen better days as well.

My ex took the newer set bought in 2005 when he moved out (I told him to take it) so we really do need a new one. Looking at the life of the stuff in the basement - It has been 6 years - if it wasn't so expensive to re-apolster I would do it in a heart beat.

She's tellin the God's honest truth, y'all. ;)
I want photo's! :goodvibes

I am not the naughty one - Chomper is -I just got sucked into her vortex of evil! Bwahhhhhh!

I am on the panic mission folks to get everything done for Treyner to be offically accepted into school since both colleges were closed for the last 2 weeks and he leaves THURSDAY...and I have no clue what the financial aid packet will be yet etc...I am panicked and will be back once that is all done...

Sorry but this is a major stressor - I feel my heart may implode!:headache::eek:
