If you've participated in any spa service on the Wonder, whether it's a hair cut, massage, acupuncture, etc., I would love to hear about your experience! I'm looking into my options as we are scheduled to be on the Wonder for two weeks in August. I know what Disney's website says but I'd love to hear about your experiences.

Thanks in advance!!!

I did ionithermie, acupuncture and a chocolate treatment that was like a body wrap and maybe had a massage or facial as part of it. Ionithermie worked great. It sweats inches off of you, but I got a ripping headache later from so much water loss. They tell you the inch loss doesn't last and that you need to buy their product to use at home to continue the treatment. It was nearly $2,000. for what she recommended to me. I am not kidding. I did not by the items.

The chocolate treatment was good, but the basketball court was above my head and I heard the ball being bounced on my ceiling the whole time. While there were no products to sell that went with the treatment, the guy who did the treatment still spent about 15 minutes going over products I could buy for different things.

The acupuncture was good. I am married to an acupuncturist, so I am used to certain types of treatment. I told him what the treatment was like afterward and he said that was very traditional and what is taught in schools. It was fine, just very different than what I'm used to and a lot more needles.

I only got the 3 treatments because there was a special when you book 3 and I had 3 sea days in a row. I don't anticipate using the spa again in the future because I think I get better, less expensive treatments near my home. I may go for a hair appointment or a pedicure, though.

I had a bad experience with a facial on the Fantasy, but decided to give it another go on the Wonder a few weeks ago. I signed up for the spa taster, which with automatic gratuity was right at $140. I selected three treatments: a mini facial (I know...), a foot/ankle massage and a neck/shoulder massage. I was not aware that these services would take place sitting upright in a salon chair...it was bright and loud. There was nothing relaxing about it between the other guests/staff constant chatter and the basketballs/running overhead. I commented my surprise and was told this is how these services were provided...have done similar samplers on the Fantasy and Magic and had a much more relaxing experience. I attempted to relax, but it quickly became obvious that my technician was lost...he couldn't seem to locate supplies and wandered around for nearly ten minutes before telling me that he was new. I had not been directed to put a robe on like the other two individuals receiving similar services so I was in my swimsuit cover up. My technician began the facial, but after a few minutes...with goo on my face...decided he needed my coverup off. The facial was completed and he moved on to the massages...honestly, I felt like he had no experience in this area...he spent a good deal of time looking for supplies again and well, it just wasn't relaxing. At times it was painful...and I let him know. He adjusted his pressure but by then I think my body was fighting back...lol...I just couldn't relax. The last ten minutes of my session time was spent trying to sell me products...nearly $600 worth of products. On my comment card I did note this experience...while he was very pleasant and nice, when I spend the money for a spa experience I truly want a peaceful, relaxing experience. My husband did a full body massage, which was done in a treatment room, but also commented that it was extremely difficult to relax due to all the activity occurring above him. We had these treatments at 3pm on a port day...perhaps early morning would be quieter. I have officially learned my lesson and will not be doing it again, though I still will pay to use the Rainforest Room. I too can get better treatments for less money at home.

I had a lovely hot stone massage on the Wonder. Completely peaceful and relaxing despite the fact that the ship was rolling a ton. It was so good I went back for a second one on the second sea day. :)

I won Acupuncture on the Wonder once and did not like all the needles they used, but I truly have to say it helped the shoulder pain I was having. With that said the needles didn't hurt- psychologically it bothered me though. In addition, I usually purchase the treatment special that includes mini facial, foot/ankle, and neck/shoulders. I've never had to sit up like 4mousefans mentioned above. If that is how they are doing it now- I'll pass next time. The spa experience should be private and relaxing especially for the high prices we are charged. The other spa treatments I've had are the swedish and stone massages which were wonderful and a mani and pedi. I did not feel the mani and pedi were worth the price since my local nail salon is much cheaper and does a great job. I booked the alone time for my next cruise, but still contemplating if it is worth it? Note: I always tell them I don't want a sales pitch on products.

I had a truly worthless massage on the wonder with a hard sell for products for my muscle pain, a lotion and a soft brush for my body. I kept waiting for the real massage to begin. I had asked for someone who could do a deep tissue massage and this women said she could do it rather than refer me to someone that could. I am mad at myself for waiting patiently for the real massage to begin and for not demanding a refund for a total waste of my time. This was in November 2013 though so staff has surely changed but the pressure to sell probably has not.

http://www.timetospa.com/elemis-body-brush-set/ something like this. What she recommended was over $200.

A table companion had a wonderful massage on the same day. So I would never do a massage onboard without having the name of a massage therapist good at the type of massages I want. My massages are painful. Basically the therapist finds the most painful spot and gets the charley horse to dissolve. After a few minutes that same spot is no longer tender to pressure.

I did the alone time spa treatment on the wonder in August. I chose the 1/2 body massage with salt scrub. Whe. I booked I asked to upgrade to a full body massage. I loved the balcony and hot tub time while enjoying the Alaskan scenery. The treatments were fine too. Luckily didn't have any noise from above that I remember. Kind of pricey but I splurged a little.

My husband and I just did a couples romantic hideaway on the Wonder. We had it previously on the Fantasy. Both experiences were great. We chose to do the rainforest room prior to our treatment on the Wonder and that was also enjoyable. On the Fantasy we had to sit thru a sales presentation but not this time. We did our treatments on port day and the only issue was that on the Wonder, the couple or couples on the balcony next to us were basically partying but again, it didn't make or break the experience.

We (both my wife and I) have done massages on all four ships and have enjoyed them. We have learned over time that when you fill out that form before the treatment that asks about "trouble spots" and amount of tension in your life to indicate that you have none at all. Anything you put down will become a sales pitch for this product or that service at the end of the session. One thing that works is to just tell them that you just bought that exact product two weeks ago. :)

Thanks for all your responses!

I've done a massage on the Dream and it was nice but not great. The pressure could have been stronger and the last 5-10 minutes were a "scalp massage" which was just her sitting there playing with my hair (weird and a bit of a ripoff as I was paying for those minutes).

I had a fire and ice pedicure on the Dream and it was the best pedicure I've ever had in my life.

But I've never been on the Wonder so I appreciate the input! It will help me make my decisions.

We have been to the spa on the Wonder numerous times and always enjoy it. I tell them up front I will not be buying any products so I don't get the sales pitch. Have fun!

I need to remember this because I am a sucker for their sales pitches. I use what I buy but I really didn't need to get it at their outrageous prices lol
