Dh and I have already done all the parks, DTD, etc and we are looking for a different thing to do next trip, preferably alone without DD. I was looking at the Spa services at the GF and came upon the couples massages. This sounds great to me especially since I'm easily stressed out in my day to day life and DH works long hours. The price seems very steep though. Do you think its worth it? Please let me know how your experience went even if it wasn't a couples massage. Thanks.

Also, any suggestions with what to do with DD5? Should I leave her at the Mouseketeer club?

I gave my wife a half-day at the Grand Floridian Spa this summer as part of her birthday present. She was very pleased with the spa facilities and the quality of the treatments.

The prices were slightly higher than the spas she uses at home, but seemed to be on par with other vacation destinations we have frequented. She did say that she felt like the pushed their spa products more than others.

IMO - ANY massage is worth the price :rotfl: Nothing beats the feeling of all the stress draining from your body, atleast for a while.
I am going to WDW in June and leaving DD at the mousekeeter club and am considering getting a massage while she's there.
I say do it. It will be wonderful for you to do it with DH.

I like the spa and recommend it if it is convenient to where you are staying and so long as you allow yourself PLENTY of time to get there, relax, enjoy your treatment and unwind. Perhaps a drink at Mizner's Lounge at the Grand Floridian before or after, or afternoon tea at the GF's Garden View Lounge before or after.
Personally, I would recommend separate massages. I have never done a couple's massage but know from friends that it can be awkward if you are not used to it. Some people are agitated by watching their significant other get massaged ( I also have heard this from a friend who is a male therapist and has been glared at by men while he works on their wives  ) and have a hard time relaxing which IMO is what a massage is all about. Enjoy one another before and after but not DURING ;) Just my 2 cents.
Enjoy.
Consider the Neverland Club at Poly instead for your DD. She will LOVE it and it is within monorail ride/walking distance :thumbsup2

A friend and I paid an arm and a leg for the "tired legs treatment". It was a waste of money. Just a lower leg massage. Like a pedicure without the pedicare. It was $45 plus tip. We won't go back.

My DH and I got a couple's massage at GF. It was nice, but I actually enjoyed the massage at Wilderness Lodge Spa better. Althoug I felt that the spa facilities were nicer at GF.

But both massages were worth the money.

Last year I did the 1/2 day package with lunch and it was absolutely wonderful! The massage and facial were the standouts.

Do not know about the spa yet...but did do some research on the Mouseketeer Club and it did not get very good reviews. However, the Neverland Club at the Poly did so you may want to try that.

My sister and I did the mother daugther package last summer and it was wonderful and well worth the money. Would do it again ten times over.

Interesting comments! I know everyone has different experiences with all things at WDW but am now riding the fence a bit. Are the treatments the same at the GF and WL? My DD and I have the "tired leg treatment" booked at GF but now I am a bit worried after reading it was a waste of money. We are getting pedicures at home before we leave next week so might make another treatment choice/location choice. We are doing at split stay at WL and GF so could easily make a switch and have a treatment at the WL instead---which might make more sense anyway now based on how our planning is unfolding on that particular day. I can't seem to find a link to what the treatments are at WL and their price list. If anyone has a link would it be possible for you to post it? Thanks for your advice and help!!

Well, I must have missed something, how much are they charging for the couples massage? My hubby and I recently stayed at a resort and did that exact same thing. We did a 50 minute massage and it came to about $300.00.
I will say I had a hot stone massage also and liked that one much better. It really depends on your masseuse. As in all fields some are really good and some are just so-so. Honestly, I dont think I would do the couples massage again, as I like to just relax and not talk during my massage. I would just do two separate massages, I think you both will get a better massage. Either way enjoy.

I don't know about GF, but my wife enjoyed the Mandarin @ the Dolphin.

Have fun!

That is where DH and I are going in Oct...the prices seem better and the spa itself looks so much nicer.

A hot stone massage ROCKS (pun intended ;) ) but last I was there, they do not offer it at the GF Spa. They do however at the SSR Spa.

eaer WL is a fitness club and has a few treatment rooms but there is no comparison as far as ambiance and some of the little niceties the GF Spa offers. Have your treatments at the GF unless you're just interested in the therapeutic aspect of the massage and not a "spa experience"

Thankyou for all your comments. I'm starting to wonder if we should do seperate massages since I may not like DH being massaged by another woman and I may be uncomfortable. DH says he will only do it if its a woman because he wouldn't want a man massaging him! lol. Maybe I'll just send DH and DD off somewhere and just do a massage by myself.
