Spa at Disney Institute or OKW for massages?

Does anybody have any suggestions. I called Disney Institute and got a massage for my fiancee and me but I was also interested in prices for massage at OKW. Does anyone know? Also, do we get a discount at OKW if we are members for this?

I didn't realize that OKW did massages (though I think you can get in room with prior arrangements). We did Grand Floridian one trip. It was nice but not great depending what you/she are use to. It was also more pricey than the day spa near my house (which is in the top 20 in the country) and lacked a lot of the spa atmosphere.

Sorry, I can't give you more info on Institute, I've never been there. I guess the bottom line is, I have now opted out of this service at Disney. I figure it isn't worth the time/money considering everything else there and the services near me.

DH had 4 massages on our trip this past summer. 3 at VWL and 1 at OKW. He preferred the VWL ones. They were giving discounts (10%) on Sun thru Wed (I believe). He raved about them so much that people we met got one and they too raved about it!! (I told him he should be on commission!!).

Check out VWL and ask about discounts....

You have to give OKW a two hour notice when scheduling a massage.

DH had one during our last trip and really enjoyed it. It was $35.00 for 1/2 hour, $60.00 for an hour.

I've also heard good things about the Disney Institute. I was told that Disney will provide transportation to that location since there are no buses going there.

They do provide complimentary cab vouchers. When I look at various websites, it appears that the Institute has more options and features than the Grand Floridian - Baths, aromatherapy, several different massages, etc. I actually booked massages there for me and my fiancee when we go down next month. They are quite a bit more pricey though. $90 for 50 minutes, $120 for 80 minutes. We get a 20% discount so that would be $72.00 for a 50 minute one.

rbuzzotta - What was the price range at VWL?

Does anyone know of any nice spas off Disney property in Orlando that they would recommend?

I believe they were about the same price as you have here. My DH got the deep tissue massage. He felt fantastic. He said the girl at OKW was good but didn't do as well as the ones at VWL.

OKW and VWL use different massage therapist groups.

I had hoped to indulge in some spa treatments when we were at VWL last month, but just didn't get around to it. I was also tempted to try the spa at Universal Studio's Portofino Bay Hotel. It sounded really impressive. I saw it on the US website under the Portofino hotel. I will certainly try one out the next trip.
