I was as Disney 2 years ago and at DTD they had a small garden shop (by the pooh shop if my memory serves me right) I got my grandmother a small little palm tree there that had Mickey on the box it was like $5 or so. Anyways it died and she was so sad so I want to get her a new one and was just curious if they still had them there?

I was also wondering if I would be better off purchasing a Italian Charm Bracelet before I go to Disney from a mall here or should I wait and get it there? Does anyone know if the quality is the same?

The palm tree in the tall box will still be available for grandma. If not at that particular shop, check the shop in The Land Pavilion in EPCOT.

No help on the Italian charm bracelet...

Thanks for the info about the tree...my grandma will be thrilled :hyper: and I don't have to rack my mind thinking of something to get a 91 year old grandma that she will enjoy! She loved the first one, but moved it to water it and left it on the heat register she was so afraid to tell me and I was like no problem. Oh well enough rambling I'm just so excited they still have them! :bounce:

As for the charm bracelets I purchased my daughters at WDW and it wasn't too expensive, I think around $6. The charms are $3. They of course have the expensive charms and bracelets as well.

bobcat thanks for the info on the braclets we are thinking of starting them down there to have a souvenir to wear that can be persoanlized so I was excited to find out that disney had the charms! :)

You can also get the palm tree at CBR. I got mine there last Sept. Love it! Have to get me another next month when we go.

can someone please tell me the size of this palm tree and how to take care of it...do you keep it in the house? also, what is an italian charm bracelet and how is it related to WDW....thanks:earsgirl:

You can also find tons of the disney charms on E-bay. I have a bracelet myself and am filling it with all disney charms. Have a magical trip!!

As bobcat said, there are two price ranges for the charms and bracelets. In the parks you can buy an inexpensive bracelet, and the charms were $3-4 in January. The more expensive stainless steel ones I only found at the jewelry part of the big store in DTD (house of mouse, or world of mickey or something..!!) I actually bought my bracelet from the DISStore!! It is the same one, each link has engraved Walt Disney collection. You had to ask the CM to bring the charms out of the Display case. She was very patient. The prices range from $9 (for a printed crown with the word princess) to $45 for enameled pairs (like tigger's body, 2 charms) My daughter has several of the inexpenve ones and they are lasting as well as mine, although she doesn't wear it as much.

Oh yeah, the CM also put my charms on the bracelet for me! Hope this info helps with your decision!!

Good luck!

I totally forgot I posted this and just found all of the new replies! Thanks guys! I want to get one for my mother and myself for our trip so maybe I will suprise her with one when we get there our first night and then we can head to DTD to buy a charm...I will have to check out E-Bay as well.
ddgirl have you purchased any of the charms off E-bay if so can you pm me some of the sellers you have gotten them from? Thanks :)

Hey guys,

I just did a search for "souvenEAR" threads, since I am planning on doing some holiday shopping while we are at WDW. I will leave the bulk of my personal souvenir shopping for our May trip when I have more $$$.

Anyway, I am very interested in the potted palm tree. This is a great idea for mothers and grandmothers! Can anyone give me more specifics, like size, price, etc? Is this something I can take with me on the plane or should I plan on having them shipped home?

Thanks, everyone!

Are these the small palm trees that are inside a plastic bag in a narrow box? I bought one a couple of weeks ago myself and the box says Miniature indoor palm grows 4 to 5 ft tall. I got mine at the airport for around $7 but I believe I have seen them at DTD in a shop sort of close to Rainforrest Cafe. I know they used to sell them at EPCOT inside the Land pavillion, but that store is no longer there. I looked because I bought a baby orange tree there a couple of years ago and I was going to buy another from them but they were gone :( anyways, my Orange tree is now just about 4 ft. tall and very pretty. I love mine. I hope my palm turns out as well as my Orange tree did. I bought 2 and had no problem at all getting them on the plane along with several other souvineers in a big Disney bag.

okay, I'm curious.... How easy/difficult is it to grow these palm trees/orange trees?? I would love to get one of these when we go down in April, but I tend to kill all plants inside the house. (Outside I have no problems, my tomato plants grow over 7 feet tall ever year, but house plants I tend to kill. :confused3 )

I haven't had my palm tree long enough to notice a difference, (2 weeks old) but when I got my orange tree, I transplanted it into a bigger pot right away and kept it near a window. (AWAY FROM HEATER VENT) I live in alabama and keep it outside in (a huge pot) during the summer. full sun. I use miracle grow once during the beginning of summer. I just brought it into the garage as we have already had a frost but will bring it indoors soon. as for the palm, the box says to keep it in a shade. so it will probably be easier to grow than the orange tree. btw, I had no idea that orange trees have huge thorns on the branches! Linda

Thanks for the info. I'll look for these trees on our trip in April and pick one up. If I can keep it alive, it would be a neat souvenir to have.

I don't know if anyone is still reading this thread or not, but I had no luck with the mini palm and orange trees when I was there at all. The garden shop closed shortly after I left and the gift shop in the land was closed :( I think I read in the thread that they are still around where did people buy them?

I'd like to know if anyone has found them recently as well - I really wanna pick one up this weekend on my trip!
