Souvenier butterbeer mug, can you refill in park with Coke products?

I know that US/IOA sell the tall red refillable bottles(cups) but I thought I read that if you purchase a souvenier butterbeer mug with butterbeer that you can also refill it around the park with Coke products but I can't find where I read that. Is that true? I don't want to buy two cups when I can just get one. I know the boys would rather have the butterbeer mugs.

Yes that is true. Remember that the butterbeer mugs are much smaller than the red refillable cups that people usually buy for their refillable factor. You will still be charged the same amount for a refill in the butterbeer mug as in the red cup.
