Southwest, XtraSeat for Person of Size (Kevin or John???)

The Podcast informed me of how when you purchase an extra seat on SW and the flight is not full, you can receive a refund. Can you call once you get home for the XS refund or do you need to take care of it before you leave the gate area that you exited the airplane from?

I know you didn't ask me specifically, but this is just my assumption based on my past experience working for an airline - most likely it has to be after the flight has been completed only. Some airlines (I do not know about Southwest specifically) actually require you send in a written request for it.

No, no. Anyone can answer. I hope anyone does. I just know Kevin and John have personally done this exact scenario.

I guess I should clarify, I meant before leaving the gate you depart the plane from. You know, as you are walking away to baggage.

I hope you can write in and request it once you are home. My dad flew to Florida last week and the flight wasn't full, but we didn't request anything right away. He flies home tomorrow and I wanted to make sure he did something about it before he left the airport if infact that is the procedure.

I do it when I get home.

You have to call a special Guest Services number, but any agent can provide that.

All you need to do is ask. There is no written requirement.
