Ever since SW has begun flying direct from Buffalo, this is the flight my family and I have taken to Orlando. However, after some frustration with customer service, a credit I cannot use, new changes, and prices that are not so low, I am considering going with Jet blue. They have a direct flight to Orlando, and I am hoping they will extend that to more(wishful thinking?). Anyway has anyone flown both airlines, And how would you compare them? Thanks

Oh that's a shame that things got complicated.

Both are good, Jetblue IMO, is better.

We have flown on both (JetBlue to NYC and Southwest to Orlando) they are both good BUT if I had to choose I would choose JetBlue, just LOVE those little TVs and those yummy bagel bites! LOL the staff on JetBlue is AWESOME!

What I am thinking of doing is flying down on southwest because they have the early direct flight I enjoy, and returning Jet blue in afternoon, give them both a try.

Used both out of BUF. If I had to shoose I would takre Jetblue if the proce was the same.

What is up with SWA prices for March???

We flew with both Southwest and JetBlue on our Disney trip, and I actually found them to be comparable (I even paid the exact same price on both airlines). But the one thing that gives JetBlue the advantage is of course, the personal satellite TV. Their new BUF-MCO direct flights are nice, but I agree it would be great if they would expand them to more than once daily.

I've also been a bit turned off from Southwest given the infamous dress code incidents from a few months back, but that's not directly related to the experience (unless you happen to get stopped by the arbitrary dress code police, that is).

When is the best time to book Jet Blue? Is it better to grab them as soon as the schedule is released? I am looking at SWA on the way to Disney and JB on the way home, Their prices are a bit better for a Monday flight home, and we can use RAC with JB and not SWA... I will have to check prices when my dates get released, but right now it is a good deal.. of course I still have to wait 1 year to see for sure lol

Thats exactly what I am hoping to do. Since Jet blue leaves buffalo in the afternoon, I will book southwest to Orlando, then Jet blue home. Both direct flights. From what I see, right now Jet Blue is cheaper. Wonder how we can convince Jet Blue to add an early morning direct flight? Does anyone know when Jet blue goes beyond Aprl 2008?:cool1:

we booked our Jeb Blue tickets out of Buffalo about a month ago and glad we did. If you time the $99 seat sales perfectly you can save quite a bit of money. What they do is offer a certain number of rows (towards front of plane) at that $99 price and once the flight is booked, prices jump. We are flying down to Lauderdale, driving to Disney then Flying out of Orlando, and when we booked our original flights we were only able to get the $99 fare as a connector. Two weeks later though another flight opened up on the same day we leave but direct to Buffalo, and they switched us no problem, and no service charge.

We bought our January 2007 tickets in December 2006 for just $54.88 each one-way (before fees and taxes), but for the life of me, I can't remember how we got such a great rate. We got the exact same rate with Southwest, which we got through a Ding! I'm guessing that one month before the flight, JetBlue had a lot of seats left to fill and dropped the price down.

We love JetBlue better. Did Southwest last time. I don't like that you can"t get your seat assigned and have to hope you get in group A or B . And then everyone is standing lines to get on the plane to get a good seat.

Plus JetBlue does have TV's and blue chips. yummy.

So the question is then, when does Jet Blue open up their next batch of flights. I know SOuthwest does on December 20, I would love to compare, then book

I didn't realize Jet Blue started offering direct flights from Buffalo.

I have flown both, and Jet Blue would be my first choice. New planes, Assigned seating, Individual TV's and great snacks...Blue chips, yummy biscotti.

I also do like Southwest beause of the flexibility and great travel times, early flights. They just need to start assigning seats, at least at check in if not online.

Hasn't Southwest just recently starting assigning seats at the airport?
