Hello! I'm going to be flying out on August 21, and need some help with the flight stuff. This is going to be the first time I'll be flying bymyself if that makes a difference, and it's one way because I'll be living there for the college program, so I'll have at least one checked bag.
Airtran leaves 7 AM from SFO to get me at MCO by 5:05 pm.
United has one leaving from Sacramento (my preferred airport, that leaves 12:30 AM and gets there at 10:35 or so.
Finally, I've found a few from Southwest, the airline I'm used to, that are a little bit cheaper but a little more awkward timing for me, but might be cheaper in the long run. They both leave at about 7 AM from Sacramento or Oakland.
Does anyone have any advice? Is it worth paying a little more to fly on United? I haven't flown it in years, but I would prefer that late night flight. Which flight do you think will be less packed? I originally figured the united flight would have less families on it, but my parents disagree, since it gets them there early and kids can sleep on the plane. Does that sound right? Also, I am a bit pooh sized, if that makes a difference. I flew Southwest about a year ago, and don't remember having any problems, but I've put on about two sizes, so I'm a little worried. Mainly it's in my hips.
So what are your experiences? Either way I'm going to dropping about $250 on a one way flight, so I am willing to spend a little bit more to be comfortable and have a good experience. I also have no qualms with layovers, in fact, I tend to enjoy them, so that's not a problem.
